Why does tool take so long in between cd releases?

I know that they want to do everything right when they make a cd but it seems that they wait years before they even get back together to start coming up with music. I think they should stop with all the wine making and get back into the music making.

Maynard is in Tool, is the lead singer of A Perfect Circle, and for fun on the side he makes Puscifer albums. He has a lot going on and if your getting bored waiting for the next album try listening to one of those, they're both not half bad. Also if you notice almost every one of the songs on their albums is good. if thats what we're getting im fine with waiting. Also check them out live they're AMAZING

did you stop to think that maybe they take those years to recharge their creative proceses adn also i know atleast a few of the members have other projects that they work on from time to time so maybe they like to take their time who are we to try to rush them and recieve for crappy music as the result. remember this bands that work too fast and/or sell out suck forever after so dont rush real creativity.
