No of course that doesnt mean that i do that straightaway , its too hard for me but i have seen some doing all the calculations on their fingers and even sometimes they dont use fingers too . i have to use calculators for even the simplest calculations(excluding the 2+2 and all) , What about you guys

i usually calculate on my mind...hehe but of course with easy one only, i mean those that just need the use of the basic of calculation...hehe like + & - ... and with the help of my fingers, sometimes!...hehe
but , when its a long calculation, i will use my phone's calculator & if its not available, a paper & pen will do for me...huh!

hehe...thanks that you appreciate...
well, i just trained my self to calculate on my mind coz i need it when i am on market...haha...you know, when counting the change & adjusting the budget while on the market...haha
so meaning, you always have your calculator with you?

Thats smart of you i think , i would have done the same thing if i get to see a calculator infront of me , but unlike youre case i do that even in the simplest calculations . Your pen and paper style is cool too lol !
Thanks for responding mate i appreciate that !

Yup mate , same here bro . I do have to use calculators when it comes to any calculation . But even some people that use calculators are so fast at at computing it that i just dont even blink for a second to miss any calculation whilst im watching it !
Thanks a lot for the response though !

Hey comrade! You make nice discussions by the way. Simple but it attracts many mylotters.
oh, I do it straightaway, cause I like to guess a lot. Then check it with my calculator. Most probably I dont get it right but at least I'm close and then brags about it in front of my friends. Lol!

Hi mdaazam
I can't calculate much in my mind, simple calculation are okay but well sometimes when we buy lot of things at some stores then, i use my phone... it is better to avoid miscalculations, even then if there is a calculater around i would want to use it for simplest of calculations.

Hello mdaazam this is checkmail and often do the Calculation manually whereever required, only during exams or office work exception to calculator.I can't afford to do any mistakes or lose any standards durings exams and office works.Else while doing practices use to calculate manually till the siple calculation is going on.Mostly the calculator is used for the ratios and roots , etc, complex averages etc.

Yeah i understand , nobody can stand getting low grades for just guessing maths when theres a calculator with him , The calculations that are tough for me are in multiplying and dividing , i never went that far to reach these roots and ratios lol .
Thanks a lot mate for replying and stay in touch !

I am lazy when it comes to adding or subtracting numbers. I'll use a calculator whenever I can. This way I can be sure I have the right answer, especially when balancing checking account.

I usually solve problems with calculator so every time i prefer calculator for calculating.

I have always loved math, and I try to do it on my mind most of the time, but of course, do to laziness hahaha, which infects all college students these days hahah, including me of course, I use my cellphone calculator or a scientific calculator.

If it is only for simple calculations, I compute it mentally. If it would already involve very big sums or figures, I don't rely on doing it mentally. I always need the help of the calculator to do that. It is now very easy to do that with the use of our cellphones because they have the calculator feature available there. To be more confident of arriving at a correct computation, it is really appropriate to use a calculator.

I agree with you on the precision thing and well it is even mandatory to use calculators when the calculation we are doing is sure important . Dude thanks for the picture , its funny to look the calculator right now , thanks again . Seek your responses in future !
Cheerz !

Dear mdaazam,
Good day to you. With regard to your question, there are some process needed to be consider in calculations. Like if you are going to present the calculation in a report or project, you need to do it sequentially. In such a way, a procedure must be followed in order for you to explain it thoroughly to your audience or viewer. Nevertheless, you can also use a straightaway method, to quickly get the result or answer that you need. It does not mean you are in hurry however, you just need the result right away maybe because you have to submit the result very quickly. In either way, you can use calculator or abacus if you are aware to use it, or perhaps, any other method that can make your work become easy.
Have a nice day.

generally if I want to get an exact number I will use the calculator. Lots of times though when I am talking to my friends on the phone about something financial I will just do a rounding calculation in my head. like if you had say 27 times 16 (simple example) round off to 25 times 15 then do 10 times 25 and 5 times 25, since these equate easily to US money it is easy 250+125 = 375 and since we rounded down for both you add 50 = 425 and the actual answer is 432, close enough for an estimate. generally it is not best to round both down, but like I said if it matters I go get the calculator.

if the number is more than 5..like 8+6..i really depend on my finger...i cant just think and answer it on the spot..i try to to do but really it required more practise..i only used calculator if i have multiply or divide..

Since I am an accounting graduate, I dont have a hard time calculating simple computations like 6x7 or 230+60. In our primary years in school, we were asked to memorize the multiplication table, factors 1 to 10. We were even taught how to add, subtract using our mind only, a mental calculation. But if it involves the interests of investments for several years, the shares of each partner, I use calculator due to its complicated computation. It involves the MDAS (Multiplication,Division, Addition and Subtraction). Math involves mastery, so that's the number one secret. Try it, you'll find it easier.

I usually try to calculate by myself. It was fun doing so in school days. but now in college they get furious and ask to use calculator instead because it saves time..

sometimes i just use my head for easy calculations... but for big numbers... i can only guess haha... yeah i need a calculator... sometimes even if im sure with my answer i always check it up on the calculator just to be sure =)

In simple mathematics I do straight calculations but if there are 2-3 digits involve I use a calculator to avoid miscalculations especially on money matters.

If the problem can be solved by just my fingers and toes, I'm fine without the calculator. lol. But seriously, I'd love doing the calculations manually. I really squeeze my brain to answer math questions just so I can say I answered it on my own. but if it already contains the alphabet and the unknown symbols, I'd definitely go consult my calculator...hehehe. happy MyLotting!!!

well i dont us calculator for simple calculations like addition subtraction multiplication and division. well it sometimes take time when the numbers are odd like 738 or that sort of numbers well i was always good at arithmetic since my cousin beat me in calculation when we where about 10 year old well i understand that harder we work the luckier we get

Mmh, I generally use a calculator, seeing as I haven't used my math in about two years. But simple things such as 2+2 I can do in my head, even simple division is ok. But start adding comas and such, and I'm lost.
