Finish your work first, having fun first or do both of them?

Hi all
Just curious, which one do you prefer? Will you do your assignment first or better to have fun, browsing the net first before do your work? Or, do you prefer to do both of them at the same time? Type your assignment while chatting or browsing unrelated topic?
I prefer do my work first! After my I've done all my assignment, I can browsing or chat without think about my duties, I can do it freely until I feel tired. But some of my friend choose to do browsing or chatting first. Their reason is, if they do their work first, they won't have time to have fun because that work take a lot of time. Sometimes I do both. While typing my letter or search my study-material, I do myLotting, chatting or read news (but you now, it takes longer time than if I do it separately and sometimes none of them can be finished, so I do only 50-50)
What about you, friends? Which one do you prefer to do first, finish your work, chattting and browsing to unrelated sites or do both of them?

Like many other have already said I too like to finish my work or assignment first and then go for the enjoyment. This is because if I finish my work early then I would be worried about it and I can really enjoy myself doing other stuff. Also I prefer my work more than having fun as I have a family to feed so its very serious. No time for fun.

I would rather finish my work first since i won't be enjoying anything whatsoever as long as their is work to be done still nagging at inside my head. It would also show discipline on my part to finish what i had committed to do.

That's what I feel too, hard to enjoy everything if we still have some work to do. Yep, discipline, that's important and can lead us to give the best results. But do you feel some distraction or the will to chat and browsing? Hehehe.. sometimes it's so hard to overcome that will..

You are definitely right! We need to set priority in life and do what is important to us. And one point that makes me adore you: "If we like our job, we will enjoy it", we love our work and don't see it as "work" or "duty" but as "thing that we love and enjoy to do"

I am only human. he he he! So it's normal to have the compulsion to do other things when one is not busy while at work. So the operative word is 'not busy'. I could never do other things such as chatting or doing other things when I am busy. By the way, I love being busy and I do enjoy my work so much.

Sometimes focus can give the best result. I've just visited bookstore this afternoon and I remember, there is one book that says, if you just can focus doing one work at one time, it means you use your left brain more than right brain

whoaho~ that hits me on the spot tsk tsk tsk. haha~ sometimes I knew that there is an assignment gave to us. When i arrive at home, i really go directly to the bed first and relax or sleep for about an hour. Then if i feel reassured, I'd go directly to the PC, get a glass of coke and eat something haha~ (but not all the time). I would not do my assignments or tasks first, but I'd go and check my facebook then my mails and etc. deep night is coming that's the time i'm gonna do my work haha! and end up with sleepy eyes @__@. I don't know but that is what i 've been used to hehehe

Sometimes it is better not to chatting or have fun first and at the end forget or have no time anymore to do our work.. But after commented on several responses, I guess when we feel tired, maybe it is better to relax first..

For me, it depends on the work I do. if my work is just searching information on the net, I will chat will my friends or listen music, so I will do them both. Because I think they will not interrupted eache other. But if my work is needed I think seriously, I should focus on it and do my work first. After that I will have fun, because if dont finish my work I would think about it.

That's what I mean. If that work related to the internet, it is quiet hard for me not to open other sites.. I mean, my laptop still downloading the files and sometimes it takes quiet long time to load certain page. So, while waiting, why don't open other sites or chatting,,hehehe Hm, if that work need us to think seriously, not just searching something, same with you, hard to split time to work and having fun..

well.. i like to finish my assignment first and then have fun..atleast that is my plan.. the problem is i cant work according to the plan.. and also my experience is if i start doing my assignment early i will do it till the submission date.. i will change it, improve it and do lots of things.. so better have a plan to do the assignments and it will help to save time to have fun..

Hi Chrysan,
I prefer to do my work first. I can’t simply leave my work behind and then go for a chat, fun or mylotting. I need a peaceful mind for doing mylot and if there is work and I go for mylot then I can’t concentrate on mylot instead I may think about the work. So I wish to complete the work first and do mylot peacefully. Sometimes I may get gap in between work that time I may check the topics and if there any simple topics then I will definitely respond to that.

Prefer work first .. so i have enjoy easily without tension of work.. at time both make some less concentration on both field.. so I ever finish my job and then i go for any fun.. like browsing, video games or walking with friends.. Generally we have no more time for fun .. but when we done our work then you realize that you have time to fun.... It is my experience .. according to me both make corrosion with same time...

Ah, tension of work! That is what makes having fun not enjoyable anymore.. Yup, doing both of them distract concentration and we ended not finish both of them too,that is my experience too. Actually this is what makes me start this discussion, that "generally we have no more time for fun"..

Although sometimes I dont like doing a particular work, I prefer to do the work first and then have fun, go out or relax or else I wouldnt be able to enjoy what I would like to do. I prefer having the important things done before!

Hi chrysan, same here, i also like to do my work first and then fun, if i keep incomplete all of my work and start enjoying with internet, tv, game etc.etc. then i think it will be stuking my mind that i have a lot of work to and when i will do it, so i prefer to complete my work first, then fun.

Can't really concentrate in having fun if we still have a lot of duties to do, but still, sometimes the will to leave the job and choose relax first appear on my mind,,hehehe..

If I have to make a choice between work and fun, it is obvious that work first is my better choice.
I guess that most people are tending to work first other than fun. Yes, when we have finished our work, then we can enjoy our life easily without the stress of work. If I am for fun without finishing my work, I will feel nervous for I am always worried about my unfinished jobs. Before finishing my work everyday, I often have no interests in anything.

Well, I go for 50-50 most of the time. I would study upto 2 pages and then message a friend then again go for studying and after sometime check for the reply of message.. But during serious exams I would be studying only till bedtime and during the sleeping hours I would go online.. :)

I think it is more efficient to having the fun firstly.Because when we had the fun,we have ourselves relaxed,so we can devote ourselves to doing the work.If we do the work firstly,people maybe finish the job as quickly as possible,people cann't do the job perfectly in such a short time. But in fact,I always finish my work first and then have fun.

As in my lecturer said, it's better to work when both of your brains are working, so I think refreshment in the middle of a work is good, LoL

I have to do and finish my work first. I need to do away with my obligation before doing extra things not related to work. This I do because I would no longer worry if I take time having fun because work is already done. If I enjoy doing other things before work, that might divert my attention and lose interest in working. That might also later tire me to do my work/assignment.
