Recently I've been getting these chain mails on my phone and now in my email telling me that if I don't respond something bad will happen. Ok, people send dumb emails but just today I checked my email and its telling me somebody is going to kill me if I don' respond. To me, that is going to far but I thought I'd ask you guys, is it? Another problem is that I don't even know who is sending me them and if they continue Im even considering reporting it to the police who are right down the street from me and Im good with, no?

This is really nasty and I definitely think you should inform the police.I sincerely hope that you get it sorted.

I would report them to the police any way as who ever is sending them are very sad as well as sick.It must be someone who knows you to send them to your email as well as to your phone. It is classed as threatening as well as harrasment.Consider if they are doing this to other people as well.

Go to the police as there are lots of weird people about now adays. They may be sending emails to other people as well as you.A threat to kill is very serious in anyones eyes, let the police sort it.

I would definitely tell the police about it. That's WAY over the line and I think it's a federal offense to threaten someone over a public communications device. I hate most forwarded things. When I find a good one and forward it, I clean it up first. I get rid of all the previous addresses it's been sent to and if it has a part that tells someone to forward it, I erase that. I absolutely hate those ones that say you must send to people. I hope you get some action from the cops. After all, you have children that could be in danger, too, so be sure to tell them that!

I do not like them either this is what i do. I got one on myspace from this young man and I sent him a message and said please stop sending these to me. I have not got any from him in awhile now. In your case however, I am not sure if you are unsure whom is sending these to you. If it is via email there should be a return address on it and I would do the same as I did. Hopefully that will help:) Take care and happy mylotting to you.

That's just sick.Mark them as spam or report spam when you receive letters like that.Your mailing system should send them to the spam folder automatically.I think you can see the email from which they send you this, you can write them back one line:"You've just been reported to police.Have a nice day!" I don't know what else can be done.

Okay, a threat to kill you?? There are some real crazy people in the world, and that one, I would report/show to the police. Things like that can be tracked or traced to whomever sent them. Let us know...

Thank you so much everybody, i just wanted to be sure I was thinking straight before I actually gave my local cops a heads up, not that they wouldn't try to help but I know they have a job to do too and didn't know if this was getting in the way or not. It's happened other times and I've just put it off trying not to overreact until it continued.
