I follow this to the core. I do not need back biting, selfish people who are friends when your happy days are on. And the moment problems befall they are the first ones to disappear. I have met many such self proclaimed good friend in my life.
I need people who stand by me through thick and thins, truly cares for me and whose company I can enjoy any time....and such people are definitely rare.
What is your take??

Hi shar, books should be many and varied and beyond good, they are always there.
Acquaintances are the want to be friends but the real friends are the special people and are indeed few and good, though new ones like that are still to be found with the recognition that it is just meant to be.

I agree with you, the fewer friends you have the better for you, you can have many acquintances but few friends because it is difficult to find someone to care for you so when you find someone, keep him. However, its okay to read a lot of books

I agree completely and that's why I take so much time before making friends. It hurts to get your trust breached. When I was a little child, I had many friends but they all started talking bad about me once I was away from them. Never replied too. That made me quite distant from the idea of friendship. Later they tried to come closer again, but I simply refused. I do have good friends now..

I think all of us have faced this situation at least sometimes in the life. I too have been a victim of getting back stabbed by people I thought were friends a lot of times. I too became cautious and very choosy when it comes to making friends. Even than, there still have been occasional disappointments even now. I think its very difficult to judge people!
Thanks for your response.
