is it good to fall in love with someone you meet on the internet?

Many people now a days fell in love with people they meet on the internet due to one reason or the other. But that most of the people that fell in love with someone on the internet and married themselves, i discovered that the marriage does not last. After three to four years they divorced. Can you tell me your opinion about this subject?

Friend if i hear you right, you said it is not matter, don't let me deceive you it matter. Out of 100% of people that meet his or her husband or wife on the internet 70% of them devious each other. There is no 100% assurance for those that meet either wife or husband online

Internet is a place where you can represent yourself as whatever you like. And in all those places people tend to promote only their plus points. (those points or the whole image itself may be made up!) So, I don't think it's good to fall in love with someone whom you know only through net.
On the other hand, there's no harm in it if you know the person well and now you meet only on net :P

You chase the idiot things out of my mind, many people are saying that it is good to fall in love with someone you meet on the internet with the reasons some gave i agree with them, but with what you just said...... i will like you to give me more reasons

Hi victory,
Since the advent of internet and the messengers like yahoo, aol and msn and since the advent of social networking sites like myspace, facebook, hi5 , tagged to name a few, people have started to come close and have started to fall in love from distant places but i donot think it is right to be falling in love as i have seen my very close friend ( who is very nice , caring and sensitive guy) fell in love with a girl from mississippi USA who played behind his back and stayed with him till he kept sending money.. once she thought she cant get more, she just cut him off not even bye or anything.. for every one sucessful net relationship there are over 100 cheaters out there.

Thanks a lot for your experience and the example given. I always ague with my friend that it is not possible to have a true love with someone meet on the internet but i believe with what you said and the example you gave they will surely agree with me
