Say you were to start posting here on one of your days off from work. It is say like 10 a.m. You just got up for the day, had a little bite to eat for Breakfast, said your Prayers, took any medications that you might need to take and then head off to your Computer to check Email for a bit, and then come post here in myLot.
You were originally planning on only being online until around 1 and then grabbing a bite to eat, do some chores around the house maybe, and then come back and post here again before it is time to think about dinner, your kids, or whatever for the evening as well.
But what seems to happen instead is you get so wound up and involved in posting here that you loose track of time, and next thing you know it is going on 4 or 5 p.m. and you are sitting there wondering where the time went as well. Personally this is about my life story most Saturdays on my day off, but it is usually worth it for me as well. Since I have met so many people here and learned so much it definately makes it worth while to be here.
So how do you keep yourself from loosing track of time, or do you set a timer or something to remind you of things, or have your husband or kids remind you as well?

Well, I could spend a lot of my time when not working down here on the Computer but since I lead such a busy lifestyle anymore trying to get everything done it makes it quite hard at times for sure. But Glad to see you can do this.

Yes, that is a plus, but since I don't have kids I am given a lot of my Free time to be on here as my husband appreciates the fact that I am also earning some extra $$ while being online as well.

I think if we do not control ourselves there is always the tendency that we lost track of time here in mylot. There are a lot of things that you can learn and many interesting discussions that you will be able to read. In my case, I always monitor my time considering that I am quite busy and have lots of things to do. In most cases, the longest mylotting time I do is an hour.

Self Control is definately the key. I know many times when time is limited I have been known to watch the time, but even then sometimes I will get too caught up in some of the many discussions here, that I still loose track of time, and if it is later at night, I usually end up regretting it the next day as well.

Hello Tina. I think that I have lost track of time while mylotting, especially on weekends or on my days off. I may spend the whole day at this site if it happens to be my day off, which is my frequently visited site. Yesterday I sat next to my computer and felt painful on the back in the evening and then I stopped it. lol

Well, I know that it is quite easy to spend a lot of your time in here when it is a day off, or later in the evening, and as long as you are enjoying your time while being here, it is a Great feeling for sure.

Well, maybe you are one of the Lucky ones who can constantly set goals for yourself and your life, and being online etc. and make it worth it, but many of us definately have problems with this one for sure.

I spend many hours every day working at the computer in my voluntary work with a children's ministry. This is the work to which I am called and always has first priority on my time.
Every morning I re-prioritise my "to-do" list for the day, setting possible time factors for each task. Although I am out of bed before 5.00am each day, my list doesn't start until 8.30 - 9.00am. I am usually on myLot for an hour each morning, and if my list is finished, or if there are any gaps, I will spend more time here. I am seldom in bed before midnight, so I often have more time at night, provided my ministry work is ahead of schedule.
Yes, I admit, it would be easy to lose track of time while myLotting, but I watch the clock and discipline myself to keep on track.

Sounds like you have a Goal and plan and that can be a good thing for sure. I know from time to time I try to set some Goals and ideals on things I need to get done in life, or in here, and hope for the Best as well. But learning to discipline myself is something I could benefit from more for sure.

Hi dear!
ha!ha! ha! Good question! I always forget about time and clock when I am on mylot, I lose track of time, in fact I dislike seeing at clock, when on mylot, but time runs so fast and simply gallops when I am here on mylot. I wish that time should slow down, when I am replying to interesting posts of my friends, but it does not happen.

So True... So True... So True. That is why I sometimes many times wish that I had internet access while at work so I would be able to log into here in myLot hopefully and pass some of the more boring times this way as well.

Yes, I have been so busy mylotting from time to time I have forgotten to do other things I really should have been doing. I think sometimes we need to find ways with timers, etc. to remind us there are other things in life we should be doing as well.

I find that I will lose track of time here from time to time as well. Sometimes, though it's not losing track of time so much as procrastinating against other things I need to do. I should be studying for my DMV test, and really should have been months ago, but being on mylot has distracted me. Now that I have put on more sites, it's really a distraction. I plan to get off for a little while and study, and then don't... Now though I know I need to study and as weird as this sounds I've depressed myself a bit to make myself study. I've thought "if I don't do this, I'll never be able to do the things I want, when I want"... So now I am going to study after our friend goes home, after lunch, and possibly after a quick videogame with hubby. Though I know if i ask, he'll make me study, and a double whammie would be asking MIL to make me study.

Maybe this is it... We are not loosing track of time, we are proscratinating in here to make sure we do not have to do some of the more important things needing to be done. I think personally you could be on to something here, and I think sometimes this could be the real culprit in life for many of us for sure.

Here I am procrastinating again. After receiving the video game I wanted in the mail, I played it, procrastinated doing chores too... but yea, mylot is a real procrastinating tool! It's so much fun here though it's hard not to come back for more!

For sure, but I guess it is also a Good way to kill time on days like today where I feel misserable and have a slight touch of a Cold and the flu or something, and had to call in sick even. But what better place to be than here to take my mind off my problems?

Well, I keep my track of time pretty well, and I seems don't have problem with the time. I need to keep it neat and I have to pay attention to the timer at my computer all the time. Because I am not just making money from mylot, I also made money from other sources as well. So, My time is valuable, and I have to keep track of it very well.

Yes, myLot is not the only place I am making some Extra $$ from either, but if I try to budget my time when online I feel I often make the Best use of my time here as well. But I also have to make sure that I get the other things I might need to get done as well, because loosing track of time here, or elsewhere is quite easy to do for sure.

Hi KrauseHome
Well i am just a student right now, i only get to come here when i have some free time, and that just evapourates when i come here hehe... mostly i have a nice time at weekends, mostly the time i stay here for long... while typing and going through discussion i don't seem to realize how quickly time flies, it is just so wonderful how it gets here, i don't have any sort of fixed time when i come here, sometimes i get so engrossed that i forget i have some other important things to do as well, but no matter what i will coming here time and again, you know sometimes i wonder how long i will keep coming here, it has become like a second home to me

There are many of us here for sure that can truly say that myLot does seem like home to us, and that is one of the Best things as well. But I find coming back here day after day to be one of the Best things I can ever do to interact with others for sure.

I have met such a situation before just you have said above.
Sometimes, on the weekend, after getting up early and a hurry-up breakfast, then I will be addicted to the sea of myLot. Once I have post responses to friends on myLot, I will continue my action and it seems that there is no an end for ever. As the time flies, I have spent much time on myLot and forget to about it all. Even if I have set a alarm clock to remind me, I won't pay any attention to other things if I am enjoying a good time with friends here.
Usually, I will spend the whole day on myLot and don't do anything else.

I have, but I do it more just being on the computer at all. You can get so wrapped up in what you are doing, that time just flies by.

That is for sure, and the great thing about loosing time on here, is that you are corresponding back and for with so many wonderful people giving feedback to things while learning New things as well.

Actually no. I am one of those crazy people who knows what time it is, no matter what I am doing. I usually have the television or radio on in the background, so I can tell what time it is based on what is playing.

Well before we moved into our New home the TV was always playing in the background as the Computer had to be in the living room area. But now with the New house we have the Computer downstairs in one of the bedrooms so a lot of time it is up to me to keep track of time for sure.

Well, there are times I have to keep track of time, especially on days or evenings I am really needing to get somewhere, but then there are also the other times where I just loose track of time and next thing you know it is midnight and I should have been asleep at least an hr. ago.

Yeah, and sometimes when i am too focus i even forget to take my meal on time that is why my companion always remind me to take my meal before replying to discussion. Then, before i realize i eat not exactly on time almost delay by more than 30 minutes. Thus, i decided to have an alarm clock in front of me to remind that it is now a time for me to take my meal, nap etc..and have a balance of fun , rest and eating time before doing surfing on the internet.

Having an alarm clock set to remind you to do something? This is an interesting thought to help keep track of time here.

I would say I do lose track of time while I ma here. It seems that time goes so far, and before I know it, it is late and time to go to bed. I do take a few breaks to do the other sites I am a member of, but other than that, I am here most of the time. I live alone so I don't have anyone else I need to be there for, so I can be in here all the time if I want to be. I procrastinate doing a lot of things, but they do eventually get done, sooner or later. I just can't seem to tear myself away from here, an I am having way to much fun to leave. Sometimes I even forget to eat as I am posting away, so then I will just grab me a snack and eat it, until I can tear myself away from here. I am glad that I am a member here, and I have never regretted ever joining here. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Yes, it is Fun to be here, and since we learn so many things that makes it even better. I know since I am not feeling the Best today being actively posting here takes my mind off of how bad I am feeling as well.

Hi Krause Home: that's an interesting definition of what usually happends to all of us here in mylot. At least i have experience the same as you mention on your post and it's simply because there are a lot of discussions you can talk about and work sometimes it's so boring! Lol Xd. actually it happens a lot and i know i haven't made all i have to made but i still here on mylot. The story is repeated over and over again. In my case it's every sundays. Thanks for talking about your own experience, it's really funny untill you notice that you have to do a lot of things you forgot.

Well, a lot of the time it is either when I am supposed to be heading off to sleep or on my days off, especially Saturdays when I find myself loosing track of time here the most. But like you said since their is so much to talk about in here it makes it definately more worth while as well.
