Play Station 3 Is it too Much $$$ ?

Am I the only one who thinks it is crazy to spend close to $600.00(CAD) on a gaming system? They come out here on Friday and I can just imagine the lines up for them. Ok I admit when the PS2 came out I was one of those people but back then I geuss I didn't have the same budget I have today.

it is considerably expensive compared to previous systems. i wouldn't personally pay 600, but i'm willing to bet you'd get your moneys worth with it.

I agree. It's an insane price.
I went to EB Games to buy a used Play Station 2 and got it for 99.00 not too long ago. The same is going to happen when Play Station 3 starts getting old. I would never pay that kind of money.

People are going to buy it based on brand name alone. By now people expect great things in Sony Consoles, while it is over priced people will still flock to the stores this Friday.

You will not find the PS3 in my carriage for my kids. The price is way out of our range. The Nintendo Wii is better priced, I would rather get that then the PS3. Besides I already have the PS2 and it is working fine for us so why do we need a newer one if this one still works with no problem.
