I read an article about how to maintain your cell phone. it said that it would be better if you turn off your cell phone once in a while becuase machine just like human beings, they need some rest from time to time. It will last longer in time.I think i never turned it off since i bought my cell phone. I just keep it on charge if the battery is low. And one more thing it will be better if you turn off your cell phone while charging. Do you turn on your cell phone every day?

no i have never switched off my cellphone. and i don't have any problem with that. i am using my current phone for the last four years and it has given me no problem. also i have heard that the expected life of a phone is only 2 years (that is your phone is obsolete in two years) so i think that my phone that has worked for four years is quite good and in its present condition it might as well work for a few more years.

I turn off my cell phone whilst I recharge it. I like to have my cell phone on if I am expecting a phone call from someone or I want to phone somebody. I have my cell phone switched off unless I plan to send a text message. I wouldn't want to have my cell phone on 24 hours 7 days a week. Some days I keep it switched off.

Hello andy555,
Yes I always turn off my Cellphone before going to bed and when my cellphone is charging. yeah true it's also a good way to prolong the life of your battery. ^^V
Others also said that it's better to discharge your cellphone first before charging it..

Generally not.
earlier i used to turn my phone off. but i think it is good to switched it off.
but turning off many times and then switched it on consume huge battery power and its life too
i think it is not mandatory to off it daily. it depends on the requirement.

Unfortunately, mu work does not allow me to switch off my cell phone. I am on duty at all hours and even my friends take it for granted that I need no rest and ring up at all odd hours.I know it is better to switch of the phone while charging but I just cannot do it for the fear of missing some important call which might require instant decision making.

That's what cell phones made for, to get connected 24/7 so my cell is always on.

I think no people can turn off there cell phone after using it. As far as I know most cell phone users turn their cell phone on 24/7 unless it is not battery drain or low...Have a nice day!

I try to turn mine off each night, but most of the time I forget to do that. Sometimes when I do manage to remember to turn it off, I then forget to turn it on the next morning!
This happened to me yesterday! I carried my phone around all day with it switched off and only realised at night time when I went to turn it off! I was expecting a call all day too!

i seldom, only sometimes i'll turn on my cell phone all the day.
usually, i turn it off when i go to sleep. and turn it on when in the morning, when the alarm ring in it. i turn it off , only because i think the radiation is bad to health.

Yes my cell phone is on 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. I think that is the main purpose of cell phone-- to others contact you anytime and anywhere you are. If your cell has time off, how will others be able to contact you incases of emergency?
One can only do that "time off" for cell phone if she or he has two (2) cell phones. I believe those times that the cell is being not in use is its resting time. It doesn't necessarily be off.

I don't usually turn off my cell phone. Even when I charge it, I don't turn it off. But I think it would really be advisable to turn it off once in a while because I just notice that my phone doesn't function well now. I turn it off then I turn it on, and sometimes I shake it because it just doesn't function properly. Hahaha.

I turn my cell phone off at night. I have found that if I leave my cell phone on 24/7 it starts acting up. Calls of text messages will not come through sometimes. When I turn off the cell phone at night while charging I have never had a problem the next day.

Mine is on all the time. It is my only phone. Without it, I feel very cut off from communicating with people. And if someone needs to reach me in an emergency, they're out of luck if it stays off for too long. I turn it off twice a year to reset the clock for the time change, if that makes any difference :)

I turn my phone off every night before I go to bed. When I'm charging I try to remember to shut the phone off but don't always. I have to remembe to do this next time. Thanks for sharing the important info.

Yes, I turn my cell phone off when I am at home. I have a home phone and if people want to get a hold of me then they can try it first. I always turn my cell phone off when I am charging the battery. I charge it at home so the cell phone is already off.

I heard that about computors but haven't read anything on cell phones about turning them off. I hate to miss an emergency phone call which has happened to me in the past because my phone was off. When I did turn it on and tried to retrieve my messages I couldn't cause of my location. My brother in law had passed away and my sister in law could not get a hold of us. My phone stays on 24/7 now.
