Dirty Dancing advertised The Fountainhead?

When Patrick Swayze passed away, a television channel made a rerun of his hit movie Dirty Dancing. Finally, after a couple of decades or so,]I was able to watch the movie in its entirety. I was so surprised to see the book The Fountainhead in one scene. Now I know why it was highly recommended way back then. I lost my copy to a friend who borrowed and promised to return but never did. But that's all right. I don't think I'm much of an Ayn Rand fan after The Fountainhead. The plot lacks a little architecture, if I recall right.

Ayn Rand is a woman...and in my opinion, the woman was scum. I don't think Dirty Dancing wasn't advocating Ayn Rand's me-first ideologies, it was making fun of them.

hi,
Nice to see the discussion regarding one of my favourite AYN RAND.But the sad thing he passed away, you should not worry about that rather you must feel about his writings which were very good.

I am sorry. I didn't know that. Was it just recent? I think it was unfair of me to judge an author by just one work. I should have read the other works. If he is one of your favorites, then he must have a great body of writings. The Fountainhead was just a little drab for me back then. Perhaps if I read it now, it might give me a different perspective. Why not?
