Posts about moms who play video games. Is this wrong, wierd or totally cool. Are you a mom with game? Also, this includes moms of all ages from teens to "mature" shall we say. Does your mother game? All posts should mention mothers and gaming.

I am a mother in her mid 50s. When I met my husband 32 years ago, he ran pinball arcades. We both enjoyed video and pinball games and always challenged each other. This progressed into home gaming eventually and when the children were in high school, we had regular gaming at the house. Everyone loved the 63" TV for playing the video games.
I know that the girls are a bit behind the boys in gaming but I've never not done something because I was a girl. I am not as good as some of the people who like to game but I sure can make them work hard for their points. We have about ten gaming systems so far. We have not yet upgraded to the Wii but it's on the list. My DS goes with me on vacation and is more needed than my cell phone most of the time. One of my biggest frustrations is when I play a game like "Animal Crossing" because it's hard to find people in my age group with the same interests.
A mom gaming is not weird, it certainly is not wrong. I think it is totally cool, fun, and keeps my brain from freezing. Now, I think I will go to facebook and mess around with some games (I play five of them) and talk to the young ones!

I am a 28 year old mother of 2 and totally agree. It also gives my husband and I some common interest to discuss and challenge each other. The frustrating thing is when you play online as soon as you mention you are a mom they instantly think of their own mother and are "wigged out" LOL! What really annoys them though is when you totally kick their butts or at least like you said "make them work hard their points"

Agreed! We have played into the weeeee hours of the morning when I win. I love to say, "Are you gonna let an old lady beat you?" That's always good for at least a couple more games.

I am a mother of a 6 and four year old, and I play video games. I got my daughter a game cube for her 6th birthday and we play super smash brothers together. I also have a Wii that I got for Christmas and both my children love it. They try to play Rock Band and Guitar Hero World tour wit me. I see no problem with it. It develops hand eye coordination, and both of my children are better at video games then I am.

im gonna have to go with its totally cool i may only be 21 and my baby may only be 6 months old but i plan on getting a controller in his hands as soon as he can hold it properly. i also think any mom who thinks that gamin mommas is wrong should be shot in the foot because even violent games can have morals hidden in them or if nothing else you can get your frustration out on the game and not on someones head :)
