Oh yes, there’s no denying the fact that money makes me very very happy…only the hard work that I have to do for it, doest LOL and you are so right…it gets my goat when the super rich while all the time saying how money doesn’t really take care of all their problems…how do they know? Have they lived without money???
So OK, I love money, I love the power it brings with it…not power exactly but the freedom to chose and buy and do whatever I want to, whenever I want to. Money cant buy everything alright, but it can help us tremendously to achieve a lot many things. Today if my loved one is ill, money cannot guarantee health but it gives me the power to hire the best possible doctors and treatments…similarly, if my son is dim, money wont get him the Noble Prize but it can certainly help him set up a business for himself, if nothing else works.

Yes, I agree with you. Money brings so much powerto give you the freedom to do so many things. Like I said above, my life is complete except for having money. Now I'm not saying this because I want money for greed. I want money to make me happier by helping others that don't have it. I want to open a business during this bad economy and give people a chance to get back on their feet even if I'm losing money. Money gives the power of giving in my opinion. Take Bill Gates for instance. He is the richest guy in the world. He should get together with the top 10 richest people in the world and give 1,000,000 people $1000 each. That is nothing to them but it gives 1,000,000 people a little extra to make them happy.

Rich people have other problems. Many times money stands in for other things. There is a lot of abuse and neglect because that can be hidden so easily with money and/or threats that somebody will take the money away. I even see it happen when people aren't exactly rich, maybe 'well off'. If you have one income and you're getting beat up and told you're worth nothing - but if you leave, you really WILL have nothing, that might scare you into staying. Especially if your 'partner' won't let you get a job.
One of the problems with some people who have a lot of money is they tend to live that way, extravagant, without regard for anything. If they were a little more down to earth and lived like normal people, they not only would have quite a savings to be able to enjoy and retire on, they wouldn't have to worry about losing a job or the economy because they'd be spending wisely only a small percentage of their net worth. Most people don't do that though, they spend close to what they have, which is why so many people are broke lol.

I think, in a lot of ways, it does. When we have the money to get what we want, it definitely makes us happy. Having money makes life easier than not having it. And having money also gives us a means to reach out and share our blessings with others. Having money does not just mean being able to afford the material things we desire but it also means being able to afford to share our abundance with others. As a favorite spiritual leader of mine says, "It is not bad to pray for more blessings. In fact, it is a good thing to pray that God blesses you with more because it means that you can also share more with others."

Money makes life easier, or should I said the presence of money. Money itself doesn't make people happy. Actually, no THING or item or even another person really makes you happy. Happiness comes from within. I know what you mean though - why are billionaires with all this money working 85 hours a week, screaming at their children, and then going off and blowing their heads off... yeah I want to know why too.
It's what I can do with money that can increase my happiness, and the happiness of those around me. I have said before, I don't want everybody to be rich or for there to be world peace. That would accomplish nothing. What I want is for every single person on the planet to be happy - satisfied, fulfilled, happy - to be doing exactly what they want and loving it, to be respectful and decent to those around them. Think about it, if you're truly happy, nothing can ruin your good mood, can it? You only want to make those around you happy too. I'd never have to worry about people who are insecure, people who are jerks, people who are crazy. If they were all happy, they would not be insecure, jerks, or crazy. LOL!

Happiness is something that comes from within you. It is a state of mind. If you feel happy with a lot of gadgets to play with , yes money will certainly help you.But if you experience bliss in finding love in your surroundings and enjoying the company of people and do not really care what your standard of living is, money is just a means of sustenance, nothing more. So,it is entirely upto you how you find happiness in your environment.

I agree with you that happiness is an emotion that comes from within. I truly feel complete in my life at this point except for having money to do the things that I want to do to make me happier. People that need material tyhings to make them happy are just lost. I will never understand how having 20 cars is going to make you happy. Thanks for the comment.
