Any opinion why internet explorer 7 can not be installed in windows XP and why should it must be genuine?

IE 7 does not support previous version of XP. You need to Install Service Pack 2 before installing IE 7. May be this is the reason.

In already Installed Windows XP service pack 2 with different different Installation CD but it still can not be installed the IE7. Have you encounter this before because i think due to not genuine Windows XP?
