You're right it isn't good to the eyes since you're moving. And more often you tend to be less cautious on the road or the way that you're walking and more likely you'll be accidentally bumped into something which is not good. But if you can do both, it's not that bad.
Thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

Yeah, it could be not be very advisable to read while walking, especially in public places. It's the same thing as texting while walking or driving while calling as this could be dangerous and prone to accident. As for me so far I haven't yet bumped or stumble into something while walking and reading at the same time.
Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

No I cant do that. Even if its not crowded you are distracted with the book and someone could rob you at the time or something could fall and you wouldnt tell. I leave the reading for bed or work to help me relax.

I have tried it once, reading a book while walking. This happens when my friend bought a book that i love, i don't have the money so ask her if i could read the book while were having a walk. After a couple of hour of doing it. i feel that people were staring at me and they thin that i am crazy. So my friend can't take it and grab the book and hide it in her back. It's a funny and enjoyable experience but i never did do it again.
However, I have that habit of bringing a book, novel, or any magazines with me, and rad it during stop over, like on a train, or waiting for teller while i am inn a bank. But i never repeat the day that i was reading while walking.

inever do that in public or anywhere... reading while walking is not for me. I am scared of bumping someone or meet an accident for not giving mu full atention to walking. I am an accident prone person and this activity is not advisable for me. These are the two things that i cannot do at the same time... but i can crochet while watching TV...

I am really wondering about this; people here think I'm a real odd one reading books and stuff while I'm walking, going about my own private business. I don't know what business it is of theirs what I do while I walk; maybe it is that typical American conservative policy need to force everyone to do what they do, like the old Russian communist party did for so long before their system apart.

Sometimes I will read while walking. However, it doesn't happen very often as i generally prefer to focus on where I'm going. But it still does happen that I'll pick up a newspaper or something and decide to read it as I'm walking back home from school or something like that.

I don't. I've learned my lesson. Before, I used to do this, but once I walked out of the library reading the book I just borrowed, and I almost crashed onto the glass sliding door. It was really embarrassing and scary at the same time!

In the past I sometimes read while walking down the street. If I had bought a magazine I was impatient, and I wanted to read some of the articles on the way back to my home. Some people told me that it was a bad habit to read while I was walking, but I didn't listen to them, and I kept on reading. Then one day I wanted to read the newspaper on my way home, and I forgot to watch where I was going. Bang! There was a tree on the sidewalk and I didn't see it because I was reading. I didn't get seriously hurt, but I have stopped reading while walking!

This happened to me, too. I was too curious to see the list of board passers for a certain examination that I couldn't wait to arrive at home to read it. As I held the newspaper after paying for it, I walked away for only a few steps and rested myself in a peaceful corner where I continued reading it. It was only for a few minutes though and reserved reading the newspaper in full at home. Reading books while walking ... that I had never done though.
