in pre-high school civics classes,we were taught that india is the largest democracy.this meant that the government was by the people,of the people and for the people.but these days, the country is singed by violence that has been fuelled by corrupt governance.there are so many things i like about mainland india, but when we talk about politics, there are only a few things that i agree with another indian.most people still think that assam is the only state beyond bengal.and anyone who hails from the north-east is either a chinese oe nepalese. has politics divided us..????wat do u people think????

I'm a chinese.Though I live in a country next to india but still I don't know a lot about india.Someone said india hate us and I don't konw is it truth ? If it is truth then why? We have no hostile to india. We love your music and dance. My major is history.During the history ,india is always ununited so I think at least it will be really hard for india to unit, especially in people's minds.

What we were taught in civics class doesnt really apply... because the notion saying the government is for the people of the people by the people itself is wrong... out government is not like that at all.... they dont miss out any opportunity to fuel up any kind of religious or caste discrepancy....and when within the same religion there are so many differences because of caste, then outside the religion the difference is (what to say) ....unlimited and I dont see any ray of hope to keep this belief or people intact for long... already the corruption and fights for everything has made the people lose patience and trust with anything in India..... I wont be surprised if it is divided into many smaller countries.....and its sad to know that....

Well, one off, I'm not an expert of India and what I know only comes from the news and from Indian friends, but yes I think politics divided the country, together with culture too. I saw there are huge differences in the culture between north and south, but even west and east. It's difficult to keep together so many different people, for not mentioning all the divisions there are on the inside too, not only the castes, but plenty of religious differences too. While I say it shouldn't matter to anyone what religion is his neighbour and we should live in peace, I see it's not what we do. India is tortured by violence, fueled by corrupted politics but not just that, also religious extremist groups and so on.
