Get off your procrastinating rear end and do that thing you've been putting off!

Saturday afternoon I went to the rescue center (cat adoption) for the afternoon. This involves things such as cleaning cages, pooper scooping, replacing food and water, handling adoptions and loving on the kitties. Especially loving on the kitties. :-)
At the end of the day, we lock everything and cover up the cages. Well one of our people couldn't find her key chain when we were all done. We searched everywhere. No keys. We looked on the cages, in the cages, under the cages, in all the cabinets, in the boxes, everywhere. No keys.
There were three of us still there who could have given her a ride home, but her house key was on the key chain. Her car was still in the parking lot, so if somebody had taken the keys, they weren't after stealing her car. Thing is, that was her only house key, her only office key, her only car key. No second copies with anybody that she could easily get hold of. She had been meaning to make copies for a while.
Well it turned out that the last person to visit the adoption center had put her keys town on the same table and ended up picking up both sets. Fortunately it was somebody who had previously adopted a cat, so we had her number and did get the keys back.
But she is now vowing to take care of getting copies of all her keys ASAP.
So what have you procrastinated lately that has come back to bite you? Got anything you are procrastinating that could cause you problems?
I probably have lots of things...

everything gets put off until it has to be done. well except things i like doing. i was dreadful studying the first time round - all revision was done, in the best case scenario, two days before the exam (more usually the night before). not much better this time either. and as for annoying little jobs - they tend to be left until they become very annoying...and bigger.

Well, a lot of times it seems like I am always known to be a Big procrastonator as well. It sometimes seems like no matter how hard I vow to not let it happen, it happens and then I end up rushing at the last minute to make sure everything gets done that needs to be. Right now the main thing my husband and I need to do is get our Carpets cleaned, and vacumed and our home straightened up a little before my husband's Mom comes over to see our place. They live in AZ so they have not seen our New house we bought yet, so we want to make a Good impression for sure.

Every weekend, I have the whole thing in front of me and plenty of time, so why is it that I'm always rushing at then end of the day Sunday to get things done?

Yes.....with all the rain the lock on my back door has been sticky....last winter it did the same and ended up breaking.....this has been sticking for a week. Today I finally went to the hardware store and got some WD40....with one shot it was loose as a goose! I've been fighting with it but now it's fixed....probably will save me another door knob too!

The roof, I know it should have been done before now but I didn't expect it to rain until January. There might not even be anything wrong with it but there was a nasty damp patch growing last winter when it never stopped raining and I had a friend who offered to go and check last spring, when it stops raining. But then it had rained so much it had to dry first. Then the Greek was going to go up there but couldn't drive down with his gammy leg but he was going to not only get up there but seal it as well when the leg was better. Then it went gammy again so he can't get up the ladder without more damage. And now its raining again endlessly and then it will need to dry out again. I should have just got a ladder and gone up there myself. I shall go out mid week and find a man to volunteer with no gammy legs or ladderless excuses.

OK well at least you attempted. Not as if it were sitting on your "to do" list for 9 months and you didn't even get around to asking anybody...

Hmmm ... what have I been putting off doing? There are so many things that come to mind that I should make a list so that I don't forget to mention all of them. Well, now that I think about it, I don't really feel like making that list right now, so I guess I'll do it later.

I've had a roll of fabric to make living room curtains for a couple (few?) of years now. It sat in a corner of the living room for ages and I've now moved it to my wardrobe...out of sight, out of mind. However, I still think about it from time to time. I've also had the fabric (sort of) laid out to make some trousers for the past week and a bit and if I don't sweep my living room rugs soon they will get up and walk away. Bad MsTickle, bad.

I've procrastinated responding to this discussion for the past 2 weeks. Does that count? LOL
Seriously though, like the person at the rescue center, I've been putting off getting another key made for my car. Not only do I need to get another key made, but I need another remote as well. Neither are cheap, so I haven't had the chance to get another set made. I know I'll eventually get it done, but for now I have to wait...
Happy mylotting!

I never used to put things off and USED to be very disciplined and getting things done when I planned to do them...but now I do find myself procrastinating. Maybe since my life has finally calmed down and doesn't have the "drama" in it that it formerly had I feel that "Oh, I'll do it tomorrow kind of attitude." And frankly it sucks--I need to make some changes in my life and I recognize that...uh, but maybe tomorrow

Yeah, I can really relate to this post. I would procrastinate like crazy and forget everything that needs to be done too. But I've realized that whenever I get the drive to do something stop too. LOL..so it's either black or white..
Actually, I'm also quite guilty of not making a spare key. I've been bugging myself but I just am not doing it yet. Please scold me, Dawn..

My husband won “Procrastinator of the year” award during his last year of high school! He used to be the worst in regards to getting things done but he is getting better now and only procrastinates occasionally. I am the total opposite, I like to get things done as soon as possible because I hate things hanging over my head; if it needs doing just get it over with is my motto.
The only thing I am putting off at the moment is getting a job outside the home and putting my daughter into after school care; she is not happy about it and I am dreading leaving my writing work and starting a job I may not like.

The one thing I put off was finishing a blanket for a friend of mine and now she`s passed away so even if I finish it,she won`t be getting it, but I will be giving it to her little girl though.

I'm actually procrastinating right now. I have tons of stuff to do but I'm putting it off because I really need to visit Mylot. Every week I put off doing things until I absolutely have to and it bites every Wednesday night when I have to stay up all night to get my newspaper sent to press. of course there are weeks that I don't put things off on purpose, it's just that I get so busy I don't have time to do what i need to do.
