Certainly not!It is a declaration of love in the most intimate way.It is telling to someone who loves you more than yourself that you love him.It is sharing your joys and your pains with someone you trust hoping he will help by listening, giving insights, sending some form of help.The asking for things is either secondary or implied if the prayer is to be effective since a declaration of love at the highest level can only be unconditional.If the declaration is sincere and accepted, then it is normal that protection, provision for needs, and everything else will follow in the most natural and timely way.
