I think reputation here is important solely because it will expand your opportunities to meet new people, come in contact with better offers, and expand your horizons. To do this, you just need to get out there, start posting, and go for the gold. Also, little things help too like having an avatar. Make yourself memorable, and be friendly! All the best.

Mylot reputation is affected by others' ratings on your post. When you reach 100 posts, then you get a star, and the color you get will be what you were given by other users, by rating you either positive or negative. The best way, is to be active, and participate, and be sure to post quality as that si what mylot uses to figure our earnings. If your don't post quality, then you won't get much if anything at all. Also, whenever you start discussion, you need to post comments to the responses you recive as you are only paid for what you do and not what others do. I think the myLot reputation has been pretty well explained here thus far. As for how to get a good reputation, though, that is an entirely different question. I have seen people that I feel really deserve a higher rating than they have, and I have also seen people that I do not feel deserve as high a rating as they have, although this last one is rather rare. I have seen far more people that deserve a higher rating than what they have. If people positively rate you, then your rating will increase. If they negatively rate you, then your rating will decrease, but there are very few instances were negative ratings should be used. The link that MysD gave you explains all this, though.

Hello coolbeans210! To get a reputation you'll have to reach your 100th post first. The more good quality posts you create, the better your reputation will be. It is there for a reason, not only for decoration. It actually gives effects on your earnings. Check out faq #16 (if I am not mistaken), for more detailed information.
