I have never been. Struck by lightening and I never want to be. I am terrifed to be put outside in a storm with lightening. When hear the thunder and see the bolts of lightening I get chills that go through my body that scare the living day lights out of me. I want to stay as far away as possible from anything that lightening bolt would hit. I have heard of people getting zapped by lightening and I do not want to be a stitistic. I know that fore sure. I try to stay inside when it lightening and thunders.

Well, I was struck in a non direct way.
I was on a phone that was outside in a garage. I was standing with a couple people,
and there was another on a 2nd level (kinda like a garage loft..)
Well there was a storm going on and I guess the lightning struck the garage or very close. The phone was to my right ear when it happened and I screamed, my leg jerked and I dropped the phone. My right leg, arm and the right half of my tongue were all numb and tingling for about an hour.
It was not a fun experience. And it scared my poor mother who was on the phone with me at the time.. :-/

I had more or less the same encounter too. Some said not to be using the phone when there are thunderstorms and lighting. I was standing close to the window and having the phone to my ear dialing someone. And I felt like a second jolt, and I just threw the receiver away from me. It was just for a brief moment, but I could feel the weird jolt or sensation there.

Nope, but our TV had been a victim of a lightning. A post was stuck outside our house and the current surges hit our TV's power supply was was plug on the outlet. The TV never get repaired and had to buy a new one. Now, every time theres a lightning storm, all appliances in the house were unplugged and no one can watch TV.

I'm not scared of lightning, but to play safe, it's best not to get too close for comfort whenever there are lightnings and thunderstorms happening. I try to stay indoor if I can, and if I'm on the road, I'll get to the nearest destination where there is a shelter (not near trees though), and wait until the lightning subsides.

Never had been struck by a lightning before, but a guy of a near city there did.
He was folgorated on the beach while trying to save his boat from the ocean's waves.
When I heard of it I was almost...shocked.

I've never been struck and like you, would never like to be. I remember when I was young, riding in my mom's car. A bolt of lightening struck the road next to us. It was really scary to me as a 5 year old and it seemed really close. Hopefully I won't be that close again. Electracution is one experience I can live without.

It's good that you try to stay safe when a storm approaches! Even though they are beautiful, they still can be dangerous. You have a 1 in roughly 300,000 chance of being struck by lightning, so don't worry too much!

O c'mon... the Chances that a person to be struck by lightning is 1 in 6.33333 billion (if probability computation is correct). They say that a lightning strikes an unlucky human soul once every hour. Besides, you have nothing to fear today since most of the buildings now are protected by anti-lightning.
