What is your life's motto? What words do you live by?

In life we all have certain standards that we carry with us. Things we just wont do or put up with. Words we live by. I have always been taught that there are two type of women in the world. Those who do and those you marry. My grandfather was no joke when it came to this. If he thought you were being to forward, he would tell you. He always made sure as a young lady we sat just right and behaved just right. He also said there is nothing worse than a woman walking down the street smoking. I have no idea why but that's what he said. I try to behave in a manner that my grampa would approve. I have two daughters that I raised practically on my own.I used the way my parents and grandparents taught me to behave as well as my updated version. I live by the following: There are three things that I dont tolerate. LYING, SNEAKING, and CHEATING. I say that if you never lie, you'll never have to remember. In other words if you dont say things that are untrue, you wont have to remember what you said. What morals do you follow? What is it that your family teaches you as you grow up?

It is a biblical verse. I think that is the one that " do unto others what you want others to do unto you. I think that this is a good motto. I think with this motto. You can become a very successful person. I also think that you will be a good person by having this motto. Have a good day.

For me it is go for what is right. There were so many people doing wrong today and do you know they still succeed but they don't have peace of mind. They are happy with their money but they always check on their back if there are people stabbing them. Me, I fight for my right and what is right. I find peace on it eventhough there are many people wants to stop me. They will not succeed because i hold the truth. I know this is very deep, this is my problem eversince. Unfortunately, I cannot share everything here.

dloveli my parents taught me to be honest, truthful and compassionate. They both said that I could tell them anything and they would not get made at me,unless I lied. My life's motto is to live and let live, in other words do not jump down everyone's throat just because you do not agree with them. Realize they too have a right to their own opinion. Also I want to live my life not just exist as a lump but as a well rounded person.

The words I live by is find your purpose and pursue it, even if you fail. It is better to have gone for what you are passionate about, failed but lived a meaningful life than to have played it safe and yet lived empty. Live as honest as yo can. Dishonesty always makes a mess of your life. Don't steal, if you don't have it, you don't need it, if you need it as well as want it, ask. Live your life, not someone else's. Don't interfere with someone else's life.

Those are words to live by! I really mean it. People spend so much time worry about everyone else's lives that they forget their own purpose. What can you do. You have a good point. We can only hope that others will follow. dl

Hello dloveli...believe it or not, I responded to a discussion earlier today with the same topic. Maybe not the exact words but near enough. I better not give the same response but then I have nothing to say

I am sure that different people have different people have different motto's that they live their lives by,and when it comes to me I have one big life motto which is I am going to do what I want, live my life the way I want, and I do not care what anyone has to say about it or thinks about it,because if they do not like it,they can kiss my behind, and another good motto,is why do today what you can put off until tomorrow, even though that is not always good, since if you procrastinate too much u never get anything done which is always a bad thing.

LOL. Your parents and grandparents were right, and I also agree about it's not good to see a woman smoking. The words that I live by are the words PATIENCE, HONESTY, and HARD WORK. Patience because not all the things you want would come at the moment you like, you should learn to wait. Honesty because to gain the trust of someone, to have a real friend that you can count on, and a relationship to your partner that will last long, you should be honest. Hard work because nothing will happen to your life if you don't make a move, it is true that waiting is good but you should still act and give your best, never give up and you will be success. Happy mylotting!
