You must be aware of that average pH of all major soft drinks is very high. and this acidity is strong enough to dissolve teeth and bones.
Phosphorus, a common ingredient in soda, weaken bones by promoting the loss of calcium.
In recent study in India, It was found that all major soft drinks had unsafe levels of pesticides. ( http://www.cseindia.org/cola.asp )
I personally have an opinion that soft drinks should be banned. Anything which is harmful for human body shall not be allowed to trade freely.
Eat Healthy food, Live healthy life.
What's your opinion on this issue.

Rules are necessary for disciplined living. Govt is the agency to monitor that. It is also morally responsible for the education, and health living of it's people.

I think that there is already far to much government interfearence in what people can or cannot do. If people want to drink this rubbish then let them get on with it.
Incidentally, if there are high levels of pesticide in Indian soft drinks, what does that say about the quality of Indian drinking water? Because presumably the makers of the soft drinks are taking the water that they use from the general supply and therefore the general water supply must also have high levels of pesticides.

It is not like that. the regular water may have soluble minerals or other heavy bodies. but pesticides are man made and can not be tolerated. Not cleaning drinking water is lack of infrastructure, but adding pesticides in drinks is crime.

diabetes is a dangerous disease. An diabetic patient can not be treated or if required, operated as easily as non diabetic patient. It should be controlled, and if avoiding soft drinks can do this. better do this.
