My son said he saw a ghost/monster in the bedroom and the kitchen one morning.

My son was eating his cereal. He is seven years old. He came in the room running to me looking frantically and scared. He told me that he saw a monster in his grandmother's room. He said it was black and it had a sharp hook. He told me that the monster was standing in front of his grandmother's bed. She was supposedly asleep during this time. He then said that the monster came to him while he was in the kitchen. He tells me that the monster has green eyes, and that its nails were very long and sharp like. So, to see if my son was really sure about what he saw, I pulled out a magazine that had people dressed in costumes. I turned the page to what I believed that he saw, and I told him to look and point to what he saw that day in his grandmother's room and in the kitchen. Sure enough he pointed to a costume dressed in all black with a hood clad all in black. I told my cousin about this and she told me that it was the Grim Reaper. And she said that it was a sign of bad luck. I know that kids can have a wild imagination, but I really believe that my son was telling the truth about what he saw. As his mother I was scared as well. I myself have seen odd things in the past as similar as this too. When he came running to me to the room that day, he was very frightened! I know that he did see something abnormal. What this all this mean? I told my mother-in-law about it, she really didn't have any comments to say. But, I could tell that it bothered her.

Hi cream Don't get scared. Small children are very sensitive and imaginative in nature. If they saw some cartoon channel or any animation programmes,in the TV they are very much attracted to it and that particular character whether good or bad, will be fixed in their mind and if they keep thinking about it any shadow or object looks like that. For example, if they see any ghost scenes, even the shadow of a tree or if curtains are moving here and there for a mild breeze, it looks like a ghost. So let us wait and see. and as far as possible, try to make him see any comedy programmes or movies

Hi, vathsala30. And see the thing with my son is this. He did saw this demon. He did not see it from a magazine first. He was able to see it and then when I showed him pictures in the magazine, he was able to point out exactly what he saw. It was not planned by well thought. He saw the demon. And then pointed out what he saw from his vision. When he pointed to just what I thought that he would do, I then knew that he was not imagining anything. He was able to describe the demon before he saw it, then he pointed to what he saw. That to me was absolute proof.

My niece's son has his invisible friend he's often playing with.He doesn't seem scared anymore and I believe that the creature(if it's real), won't harm him.I believe some children do see both demons and good spirits. Those demons may be some kind of warning,I don't think they come to take someone,it's just a sign.Health, relationships, spiritual life, maybe you should pay more attention to these things.

Hi. I saw a show on The Haunting, and this little boy actually had an imaginary friend. It turned out that this invisible friend was really a harmful friend... To him and to his family... The demon ended up possessing the little boy. Let us just hope that our children and other children have decent ghost friends.

hi cream97 where have you been? I have missed you.hatley here I was going to scoff but got to thinking too, sometimes kids are not just making up stuff.I know one day when my little girl was very ill in the hospital, and I was so scared. I went into the chapel there and knelt and prayed.I hear a soft sound like a breeze, there stood this woman dressed in a long white gown, a white hood around her face, she spoke to me, don't worry, your little girl will get well, its not yet her time. then she just disappeared. poof she was gone. The chaplin came down to me and I asked him about the sister who just spoke to me, I even described her and he said,We don't have an order of sisters here, I think you just saw your guardian angel.

I do believe in ghosts. I think your child probably did see something. If he was making it up, he would not have been so scared and you would undoubtedly have been able to tell if he was making it up. I agree with the others who said that children pick up on these things easier than adults. I would let it ride for now and see if anything else comes up in the future. If it does, then I would start looking into having someone who is associated with the paranormal come to your house. Sometimes they can communicate with the ghost and can actually get it to leave. Best wishes!

I don't believe in paranormal activity, so I'm guessing it's just his imagination. When you're young and see something scary, you immediately come to the scariest conclusion and strongly believe it's real. I know how he feels. When I was little, I swore I saw a bright orange moon outside our airplane window. It was the strangest thing. I told my parents, who didn't believe me. But I was convinced, and still am today. When you're younger, you're more susceptible to these kinds of thing. Don't worry. Just assure him it's ok, and he'll be fine.

hello ... kids tend to see with their heart, that's why! i can't say i believe in such thing, but i'm open minded, it's like, i don't have proof of its existence & it neither way around. so why not!? i'm sorry still, your son had to experience this, sure hope won't happen again. just take in consideration what he says without too much questionning about the scary parts, just tell him it's somewhat normal but then one day he'll understand the reasons, then he'll have to explain to you for not all the time parents have answers & some person are just special. i just hope also, nothing bad happens to your mother-in-law, could be hard for the son, but if so, would also be hard for everyone that receives a visit & who's being informed. pray & have your angels watch over you & your family ... cheers!

I guess your son's third eye was opened. I do hope that there is someone knowledgeable about that could be consulted in your place. I too am bothered hearing that from your son. I think you should also strengthen your faith in God in the process because most of the persons that can see and feel this kind of presence are due to lack of faith and these entities take advantage of that.

My son and I have all the faith in God. People will still see spirits no matter what level of faith a person is at.

How long have you been staying in your home? This present one, the one which your son saw that figure looming? I believe in spirits and I also believe that they can disturb the peace too whenever they want. The most important thing is not to be scared of them, because they are not our Creator. Just try to keep a wary mind and if possible keep night lights on or something, at least until your family have fallen asleep. Sometimes there are spirits trying to haunt and make us scared and losing focus on our everyday lives... do not be taken into it. But at the same time, do not be too brave either..that's my take on this. Being too brave in the sense to come and looking for it and hunt it down sort of thing. Just ignore it and it will go. Take care, cream..

You do have a point there. I've been wondering like crazy sometimes why these ghost-hunters ain't scared of anything at all. Not to say that we should be scared of ghosts, but at least, not chasing them like you said. So that made me wonder pretty much. LOL..

Hi, zed. I have been staying in my in-laws house for four months then. I will never try and hunt a ghost down! I am trying to run from it not run towards it! I don't see how the Ghost Hunters can carry on this mission. I am glad that I am in my new apartment. I hoped to never see any ghosts out here..

Yes, you are right! I have even seen countless shows where they are chasing after the ghost/spirit and then when it has decided to make contact with them, then they run like baby puppies. It is kind of funny when you think about it. Why do the job if they can't handle what they do.

I like the way you handled that situation with your son. Quick thinking of you! Do you ever watch that show, 'A Haunting'? I used to watch it a LOT, but, now I haven't much time to watch it anymore. Anyway, you just never know what's out there and what can be seen, you know? I hope you find the source of what it was for both you and your son's peace of mind. Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

I think that if there is anything paranormal..a child can be more sensitive to it than an adult. Some children can see very strange things and then grow out of it as they lose their innocence and become older. I don't know if it means anything or not but I would ask him on occasion if he has seen it or is seeing it anymore.

Hello my friend cream97 Ji, Seeing you after very long gap. Hope , verythingis Ok all around. I thik, what chidren note around through magzines, TV etc and their querries in teh minds are left un-attended, tehse things do happen. When we think of bad omen or bad indication, we are moved away by manysaying in and around.Further, you have done right thing by showing that magzines. I think you should not carry and get biased by this.At teh age of seven, such vocabulaeroy of Ghost etc should never be discussed during famiy meetings as tehir geart is very tender andmay causefrightening due to their weekness in their heart. Take sufficient precautions. May God less You and have a graet time.

Hi, maygodblessu44! It is great to see you too! Everything is going fine. Just trying to get used to this cold weather. I am lovin it! I am sorry, but if my son sees something that scares him. I can't keep it in the dark. It would be impossible. Ignoring it only makes matters worse in the long run. And I will avoid that option.

I wouldn't freak out about it. Kids at that age are always seeing monsters in their closets and such. He probably saw a shadow that looked funny and ran to you, then your reaction, the interest you showed and the way you took him so seriously and asked him questions reinforced in his mind that he really did see something. I bet if you had brushed it off he would have calmed down quickly and been convinced it was nothing. Kids are very easily led and he probably became more frightened when you reacted as if it were real. A shadow can look like the grim reaper to a seven year old. He may have embellished the green eyes and hook when you asked questions. Kids can do that. I wouldn't worry about it. But if you really do, there is a way that I have been told gets rid of evil spirits. You light a candle and then go room to room, telling whatever it is to leave. I don't believe in such things, but the ritual might settle your mind.

Hi, opalina 143. As soon as he saw the figure, he ran to me like he was running for his life. He didn't just told me what he wanted me to hear. He told me what he saw. The black figure came to him while he was in the kitchen, Hr saw it face to face.

Hi sabirin, I also agree with this. I believe that the ghost was in the form of Satan. My son said that he saw fire come from the ground.

It is true that children are more 'sensitive' to paranormal activity and are sometimes able to 'see' things that adults don't see. The Chinese believe that if you want to inspect a house prior to renting or buying, bring a young child or children along. If the children are cheerful or playful inside the house, it is OK to live there. But if the children are subdued and quiet, then there's something wrong - it might mean that 'something' is in the house and the kids can feel or see it!

Hello cream. It is so scary when seeing a ghost though I have never met such a thing. Just this morning, one of my colleagues asked me if I believe reincarnation. I think that it is hard to say as I am still doubtful about it...

If you actually had a picture in a magazine, and he pointed it out, isn't it possible he saw this and then just imagined something? He is a child, after all,and you really have no way of knowing how 'real' something imagined may be to him. On the other hand, while I don't believe in 'ghosts' as such, in terms of people who have passed coming back )I'm a Christian and I think once we just go to God straight away, and don't travel 'between' places) I do believe in another spiritual dimension and that angels and demons exist, and I also would probably go along with the idea that kids are more likely to see something than us a lot of times, as are animals, because they are just more open and don't have that automatic filter we have as we get older that immediately rules it out!

Hi, English TeaDuck. No, he has not seen this in a magazine. I just so happen to have a Halloween costume magazine at the house. This magazine came in my PO Box under someones else's name. It was not mines. I had already looked through the magazine, so when my son described to me of what he saw, he pointed it out. I just opened the book to the page. And I told him to point out to me what he saw in his grandmother's room. There were many pictures of costumes on that particular page. He could have chosen any one of them, but he chose the hooded black figure out of all of the pictures.

You probably shouldn't have told your mother-in-law about it. Children are much more sensitive than adults when it comes to these issues. I believe your son did see it and yes it is probably a bad sign of things to come. Maybe you should get your mother-n-law;s health checked just too be sure. Anyway, my friend in college had many experiences with ghosts in his house in Ohio. I know they are not as bad as the grim reaper, but scary nonetheless. When he spoke about his experiences he was so convincing that I began to get the chills. He even invited me to stay the weekend at his house, so I could see for myself. I didn't have the courage at the time to do it. I think if I had the chance again, I would do it now.

a ghost - it is just an optical illusion instead of a ghost.
I have not seen a ghost before. I guess it is just an optical illusion if yor son have seen one in the bedroom. As you have said above, your son tells me that the monster has green eyes, and that its nails were very long and sharp like. But as far as I know, it won't be something real instead of a ghost. Of course, youd better encourage your son to face such a scared situation bravely, which is very important for your son to overcome the difficulties in the future. Have a nice day!

I don't think he saw anything, probabily he was playing a joke, kids that age aren't new for this knind of things and I also remember doing them when I was smaller. Either he saw a shadow and made up the details, or he made up everything.

Hi, paleorainy. I do agree that kids can make up jokes. But, my son was not pretending. He was really being honest. As his mother,I have a strong sense of instinct to know when he is lying or when he is telling the truth. He was being very honest. The look on his face proved so much. He was very frightened at what he saw. And until this very day, he can describe what the ghost looked like and what it said.
