if the lecture is really worthy and fruitful and if it gains the true knowledge, i say, it is wrong to use mobiles in the class, if the teaching is really poor also, the mobiles should not be used, because we have to respect the teacher.. eventually, wen there is no staff in the class, the students can have their mobiles...they can have their mobiles freely inside the campus..

Almost everyone uses cellphne these days. Cellphones have become a necessity rather than just a fad. But there is always a downside to this, like students using their cellphone while the class is ongoing. I mean, for me, it's all right for students to have their own cellphone. It's convenient, since parents can check on their children even when they're away or in school, and children can contact their parents especially in emergency cases. However, using a cellphone inside the classroom while the teacher is conducting a class is inappropriate. Students who do that don't show respect to their teachers or professors. besides, they will not be able to understand or learn really well what is being taught. Even others use their cellphones while having an exam. They use it as a tool to pass information or answers. In short- to cheat. I have witnessed students who did this in school.I knew some of them, too. They were my classmates in college.

Cellphones are invented for a purpose but nowadays people are taking advantage of what the technology is giving them by not properly using them. It is actually pretty annoying for the part of the teacher to see their students using their cellphones during class hours but even if the teachers make the necessary actions the students still don't care at all.

Indeed it is the wrong path that we follow if we are to use the cellphones against the rules and we should receive a punishment equivalent to the mistake we do.

I dont think it to be a correct affair to keep cellphone by a student in the class, specially while the class is on. For possession of cellphone, the student will not be able to maintain his attention level to the teacher. In class, the prime job is to bear attention to class and the teacher. Thank you.

Yes. obsolutely. Using cellphones in the classes have to be prohibited strictly. If any students cross the prohibits, a heavy penalties have to be introduced and imposed, which should automatically restrict the students to using cellphones in the classes.

I don't think it is right that students use cell phones in class, as they are there to learn, not to talk on the phone, or text for that matter. i think they shouldn't even be allowed to take cell phones to school. If they were banned from school, then the kids wouldn't have an opportunity to use the phone. If they do have to take the phone to school, then I feel it should be shut off, and held in the office until the end of school each day. I am fortunate, that when my kids were in school, they didn't have cell phones, so they couldn't do what the kids nowadays do. I just don't think that the schools are strict enough. Take care and happy mylotting.

Definitely wrong! It will disturbe other students including teachers. When others are listening to their teachers attentively when a cell phone is ringing, i think which is so bad! In that situation, how can the students concentrate on their study? By the way, i think when we are having a meeting, we should turn off our cell phone or make it viberate instead of ringing.
