taken off the schedule

So I finally got my new career offer. After 5 and a half years of serving/bartending I am able to move on. I gave my notice and they took me off the schedule, instead of letting me work out my notice. Now I don't start my new job for 10 more days and it will be a month before I get paid. Oh, how much corporations appreciate us in the end. Anyone else had a similar situation happen to them?

i'm sorry to hear that which didnt happen to me. the company you last work on was so bad, and i think you could find a relatively normal company that can give you what you deserve. however, try to solve the problem as much as you can, good luck!

I did have a job where I gave slightly less than 2 weeks notice, about a week and a half, and I was let go that same day.

I read your other discussion on the matter of switching jobs. I hate that you aren't going to be paid for what a month? That is pretty bad. That hasn't happened to me before, but I'm sorry it is to you. You have a child do you not? Well here's to hoping your mylotting and online ventures will help pay the bills for the month you'll be without a paycheck!
