What is your main philosophy on life? What is it that you believe that makes life bearable and even imparts perspective and help brings you to acceptance of life and situations on life's terms? For me my personal philosophies are fairly simple and to the point. Like the hippocratic oath the first part of my Philosophy is "First do no (intentional) harm." The second part is "Take responsibility for yourself and your actions. Own your part of things but only your part. Third is that "This life is what it is and it does what it does, so never put off to the misty expanses of "tomorrow" that which must be seen to today" And lastly (for the purpose of this post) Find the funny in all things, and share it with those you share your life with, even if the funny thing in a given situation is you.

I am not going to talk about all my philosophies, as it could take me years, as each humans philosophies are created, 1 peice from each and everything they do. I have a few mail philosophies, and these are formed from past experiences, and also the knowlage passed on to me from greater people. Number one, Never cause pain when there is no need. I mean this mentally and physically. Sometimes there needs to be pain. For example, some people call it tough love. If telling the truth will make them a better person in the end, or happier in the end it will be said. I am not someone who will hide things. If something has to be said, it will be said, but i will do it in a way to hurt someone the least. Live life to the full. Life can only ever be lived once, so you might as well enjoy it. Be open minded to things. Let me explain. I have a past in martial arts, ever since i was a kid. People steriotype martial art as violent. True martial arts teach not to fight, but to resolve issues without violence. Fightibut in the past i have had to fight, as there are people out there who can't defend themself as well as me, so i step in and do the right thing. Martial arts is defence also. I will not hurt someone more than i have to. In the time since i was 11 or 12 when i started MA i have used it maybe 10 times, when ive had a knife pulled on me, or when the situation cannot be avoided by talking, ie someone is drunk and is not in his right mind to reason with. I also beleive in finding the funny side. Laughter is not something you can buy. If you are in a stressful situation, if you can make jokes inside your head it sometimes helps. These are a few of my basic philosophies on life. You may see them as wrong, or right, and everyone is entitled to there opinion. I hope someone find this post usefull. Michael

I find this pose useful! You echo my basic belief system almost perfectly. The fact that you have given them some considerable thought (as your explanation for each philosophy is almost identical to my own, and ordered I believe in exactly the same way. Your response also leads me to believe that you are a dynamic, complex, and complicated human being much like myself. Also like myself you have obviously taken the time to ponder the mysteries of the Universe and analyze the purpose of such things, rather than accepting someone elses philosophies as valid. We forgot to include any one of the other major 3 Know thyself, yourself as a person, who you are and what you're capable of, and know who you are to those you love, value and surround yourself with. Love your family and let them know it often. Believe in something, and believe in yourself to make your dreams all that you want them to be in reality.

My philosophy in life is that ups and downs are natural and as long as we do not get flustered by the goings on in our life managing life would not be that complicated. What seems disastrous need not necessarily be so as our perception may not be based on a detailed study of the situation. I also believe thatif we love ourselves this whole world would be a beautiful place as if one loves onself he/she will not hurt anyone as it would hurt the person in turn and so on.
