I have had my fortune read 3 years ago. There were points that came true and there weren't:
The one that did come true was: I would resign from my current job (at that time)...well after a year I did resign and I am glad I found a much better company.
The one that did not: I was told that I should not move in with my boyfriend as he will just use me....I am glad I did not listen to this one because I would have misssed a great experience in my life.
Did you ever have your fortune told?

yes i read it once and he said something that actually happened . i was a really bad thing and i regret as it was my fault . from that day i am scared of these fortune tellers and all . i think the future should be better kept alone and found as days come by . we should never haste to see whats coming and be prepared for what could come .

I think what happens when we have our futures told is that we expect it to happen thus we inadvertently do the things, instead of avoiding it (in case of a bad reading), then we attract the thing to happen in our life.

ur right most of the times we end up doing things that we were told not to do . so if we already knew what is going to happen most of the times we give up too easily thinking that it is anyways going to happen and we cant change it

I don't believe in fortune telling, my friend. They don't know what the future is all about and most especially my future. God is the only I believe that knows what my future goes...
If they really true why they don't know about their own future. I don't think if they predict that being a fortune teller forever. Because as you can see the fortune teller is always their to guess people future?
Only God, knows what our future to be like, my friend not a fortune teller...Have a nice day!

Hello, earth2jacq!
Your avatar indicates that you like estern culture, doesn't it?
Consulting a fortuneteller is a very common phenomenon here in Asia. I'm from China, i had my fortune read by a fortuneteller when i was a kid. But so far only one proved to be true, i made through the national College Entrance Exam.
I was told i will grow old with my wife, but it seems that she just didn't show up so far, i had two girlfriends, broke up due to conflicts in ideas as either party want withdraw.
I also remeber what fortuneteller said about my job, but so far not proved, but it's going to be pretty soon, as i'm one of the graduating class.
But anyway, we need to at least do something coz a good life is never an entitlement.
Have a nice day and enjoy mylotting!

I really don't believe in fortuneteller because nobody can tell what is your luck except the almighty alone. Fortuneteller is just guessing they on what whey are telling and sometimes it just a co-incident usually they will read on your face thats how psychologist been studying.

Hi Kianli. I am fascinated by asian cultures. Most particularly the geishas (as you can see). I have had my fortune told just for the fun. Although when I was infront of the tarot cards I was a bit nervous of what I will hear. Good for you that you passed the National College Entrance Exam.

I never have had my fortune told. I would only do it if it was offered for free. I can think of a ton of other things to spend my money on. The closest thing I've done is read what was in my fortune cookie or my sign readings from the newspaper or magazines. I'm glad your fortune turned out well for you!

I like fortune cookies as well. Yeah you are right, most of these fortune tellers charged too much for their services. Thanks for posting.

I have a friend who used to share with me his vibrations about some events that will happen in my life... of course i don't believe in fortune -telling but it's always a coincidence. Almost all his forecast and predictions about my going abroad, about my kids health concern, my parents... did happen. Every time we have this encounter after hearing all his predictions-- i offer a prayer to counteract any negative vibrations and asks for blessings for those positive ones (Thy Will Be Done!).

Wow that is new to me...offering a prayer to counteract negativity and asking for blessing for the positive ones. Maybe I should try it the next time I have my fortune told. Lucky you that you have such a friend. Thanks for posting.

Yes he is a good friend-- but what i've learned from this experience is that-- negative or positive prediction we always have to uplift our faith in God for he will not lead us to trouble-- he will always keep us safe and give whatever will be best for us!

Yes keep in mind that we are the designer of our own destiny. No fortune teller could ever be accurate as to tell us what will happen in our lives.

In 1983, I went to an astrologer to have a complete reading. She told me about all my personality traits and described me exactly. Then I asked her about my love life. I had been divorced for three years and was rather lonely so this was an important subject to me. She told me that in the year 1999 I would meet the perfect partner and would marry him in the year 2000. I was so disappointed to think that if she was right, I would still be spending 16 more years alone.
I raised my son and did date a little but did not seem to find Mr. Right. Then in the year of 1999 when my son was all grown, I started writing to a nice widower man that I met on Yahoo personals. He had taken care of his very sick wife for 16 years. We wrote every day. He had two grown children and I had one. Our likes and dislikes were so much the same that it was unbelievable. He did live 250 miles away but after writing and talking on the phone he asked if I would be interested in going out to dinner if he drove up to see me. I said yes.
After that 16 year wait, the perfect man walked into my life and we married in the year 2000. We've been happily married for 9 years.
It could just be luck or fate, but I truly believe that my future was read for me that day in 1983. It sure came true.

i did!!! years ago....reason i stopped is because i've starting going back to church and also because nothing came true. i was told that i'm going to marry in my early 30s (which is true), that my husband is going to be 10 years younger/older than me (not true, he's 3 years younger than me), that i'm going to be in a life threatening accident when i was 29 years old...nothing happened that year...
most important thing is that, after trips to countless fortune tellers, i realised that i will be happy if it's positive things being said. However, once you heard anything negative, it will make you so depressed and fearful. i do not want to put myself in that situation anymore. So i stopped everything immediately. learn to believe in God and myself :)

It is good that nothing tragic happened to you. Yeah I have also stopped going to these fortunetellers (I had it once only). I agree that what they say affects us and I also believe that what we do in our lives is the driving force of what will happen to us in the future.

yup! A long time ago I have my fortune told by a fortune teller. She told me that I will do a lot of traveling 3 years from there. So I was so excited. And then I waited. Now 4 years had past and nothing happen. It was just a joke what my fortune teller had told me so that I will pay her for what she said. Now I dont beleive in such things, Our fortune is based on what we do and not on the fortune teller told you!

It is a load of nonsense mixed up with common sense and good guesses. Why do you want to know anyway. Even if it was true there is nothing you can do about it.
A few years ago a guy I worked with went to see a fortune teller and I asked him what had been said and he said she had told him that his job would carry on for the forseable future and his marriage was secure. I would have said that as he was a hard working steady sort of guy so a good sensible guess. Within the year the boss had sold the company the guy as left and started his own business. He had got divorced and had re-married

Well fortunetelling is not a science so nothing is exact. I think it is what we do that will make us achieve or underachieve something. Thank you for posting.

I have had my fortune told and had been told that I was going through a bad phase which would last about 6 months. Thereafter, my fortune will take an upward curve and there would be a lot of good fortune for me.Nine months have passed and there are no signs of the good times. I suppose they are delayed by divine intervention or something. One thing I have found, the fortune teller seems to know about the bad things in my life and seems to predict them rather well, but he really comes up short about the good things that are to happen!

I have had my fortune told when there are so many bad things happening in my life. When the fortuneteller told me about some good things to happen, I held on to that. Held on to the hope that one day all the negative things in my life will be over. Thanks for posting.

Hi, earth, just reviewed you thread, you were so lucky that you did not trust the fortunetellers' words, as a matter of fact, no one can completely predict future. just do you like doing and treasure the present possession. In my opinion, Life is a bit of short time compare with the universe. fortune is handled in my hand not fortuneteller. Once i make a decision to be a fantastic life. i will pursue the proceeding to reach my goal in all of life. Follow my heart and make a difference, that is i need to do. have a nice day. mylotters

I also had my future read by a fortuneteller in our school during one the activities we had every September. That was the very first time that I had my future read by a fortuneteller.Well..some of what she said came true and are true and some of it didn't came true. True: Family situation,Description of my Boyfriend and our relationship will pass the Nurse Licensure Examination. Not True: That I and my boyfriend at that time will not break up, that I will get pregnant before graduation.Still Uncertain: My boyfriend before will be my husband.
I still believe that we are in control of our own destiny and future. That we are the authors of our own life.

Fortune telling is a common practice here in the Philippines. It became a big part of Filipino culture. At first I don not believe in fortune telling until I have an encounter with one. I do not believe in such things because I believe that no one can tell your future or what lies ahead in you, except for the one who created the life you enjoyed now. She was our foster parent back when I'm on my college, and she herself is a known fortune teller in their town. We had our session with her and I was so amazed and shocked when she started to talked things about me. It's our first time to got to know each other but she could tell anything about me, my priorities, dreams, characters, and even she can described my crush.

It is good that you have met an authentic one. There are quite a lot of pretended fortune tellers who are just up for the money you will give after their so called reading. Thanks for posting.

It is quite hard to find an authentic tarot reader who can really read the cards correctly. I used to like having the freet tarot website read my fortune but I already stopped doing so. I am no longer comfortable with tarot readings when I read that tarot reding is connected with the devil.

My faith goes against this kind of practice, but I must admit that when I was in college, I did dabble in some occult and for kicks, I learned to read cards (not tarot, plain playing cards). I think it was really just a dumb game, but I'm not about to do it again.

That's cool and you did it not by tarot but by the normal playing cards. Amazing. I use to like to learn how to read tarot cards but after I saw a book with a lot of symbols I just gave it up. I guess tarot reading is not for me.

Once when I was younger and I went with friends to a carnival there was a fortuneteller there. All of us had our fortune told I can not remember what all she said. I have not been to see a fortuneteller since then.

I used to visit a so-called oracle, a middle-aged women with experience about the future, who foresaw my offer from university, job and even marriage.
To my surprise, most of her words become real without my intention.
The oracel ,however , doesn't seem wierd or mysterious as featured by Holleywood movies while not difficult to get along with.
when read by a fortuneteller, what you shoud do is that take the advices as potential possibilities and meanwhile largely stick to your own way.
Fortuneteller may get you some clues about your future, promising or uncertain but the host of the future is yourself.

Surprisingly those who can really tell the future doesn't look anything like what Hollywood movies depict. They look like simple people and sometimes they just tell you out of the blue their visions.
