Well I am crushing on this new office mate of mine. He is neat to look at and a good dresser. He seems gentle and soft if I compare him to my other officemates. He doesn't talk much either. Could you help me determine if he is a gay? Could you give me some pointers on how to know if someone is gay or not?
Thank you

Like the others have said, I think before you can make assumptions you probably need to get to know him better, then he might tell you if he is or isn't himself. One thing though that I've noticed with a few of my gay friends - they seem able to sense whether another person is gay or not, and so far they've always been right. Do you know anyone else in your workplace who's gay, who might be able to sense this man's sexuality in the same way as my gay friends are able to do?

There really is not a way to know if someone is gay or not unless they choose to tell you. You say you have a crush on him. How about inviting him for a drink or coffee and getting to know him better. If it turns out that he is gay then nothing is lost....you've still gained a friend.

I agree that you need to get to know this guy better . . . then you can probably figure it out just by the things he says, or he might even flat out tell you. There are stereotypes of what gay people are like - but that isn't true of all gay people. Being gentle and not talking much doesn't necessarily mean anything . . . that's just his personality. Talk to him like you would with any other person - and I hope you at least strike up a friendship with him! Good luck!

Talk to home and know him better. It's not necessary that because he is a shy person so he is a gay! Many guys are shy when it comes to talk to the girls. For a relationship you need to make him friend first. S be his friend you'll know the rest.
