My family and I recently moved into our new apartment. For those of you that can remember, we used to reside in a motel, We did the motel thing for six months. Oh how I hated it!! I have prayed and trusted God and he has moved us further than we have ever been!! We were staying with our in-law's for 4 months. In May of this year, my father-in-law offered us to come and stay with him, He told us that it could relieve us from paying daily at the motel. With us staying with him, we could save up. I did not want to stay with them, but eventually we all had no choice. So after four miserable months, I stayed strong and believed God for the best. Now at this moment, I am in a three bedroom apartment with a 1.5 bathroom. It is very spacious and comfortable. I have got to get used to being in my own place. It is new to me once again. I love having my privacy and personal freedom! Best of all, I am happy to be with my family!

Wow, a three bedroom apartment is wonderful and what is 1.5 bathroom, I am not able to understand that. I hope you will be kind enough to explain to me what is 1.5 bathroom.
Even though I am staying in my own house, my ambition is to stay in a three bedroom apartment. Hope to buy that apartment in a few years time.

Thanks for the reply cream. Here in India most of the bathrooms do not have a bath tub. All the bathrooms have only a wash basin and a commode. In this case I think 90% of the houses and apartments in India have only .5 bathrooms. Even I do not have a bath tub, in my bathroom. When there is no sufficient water to take even a shower, where can we take a bath in a bath tub.

Oh wow, I am so sorry to hear that ramesh... I know how it feels to have to wash off in a sink or a basin. I had to do this for 4 months. I did not have a shower in four months, but I did wash off in the sink. I hated it!!! Especially with it being hot, there was no air circulating in the bathroom. I had to put a mini fan on top of the sink, just so I could wash off and feel cool. I would sweat like a pig without the fan being on! I was so miserable!!! Now, I can take all the showers that I want to at my new apartment!!! I hope that it gets better for you

Hi, ramesh. A 1.5 bathroom is one full bathroom with a tub. And the .5 is another bathroom that has no tub, but only a sink,commode/toilet in it. It is like having two bathrooms. Only one is a full bathroom having a tub, toilet and sink in it. The other bathroom is a half bathroom, consisting of only a sink and a toilet.
Just think of it this way. One bathroom is a full bathroom. And a .5 bathroom is half of a bathroom.

Congratulations on getting your own place. I was just watching the today's show this mornign and they had a segment on a traveling family who lived in their RV because the husband lost his job and they couldn't afford to live in their own house. So they sold it, and bought an R.V. There's a website, familiesontheroad.com maybe? In any case it tells of a lot of families that are living on the road.
The mother and father both have a job now I think... But that's not what this discussion is about, it's about you. I am so glad that you were able to get out of that motel and out of your FIL's place, and now have your own place! Hopefully this won't happen to you again... Good Luck!

Congratulations!! I have been praying God would help you. I am thrilled to know you finally have your own place. I know what it is like to be in a place that is not your own. It is a strange feeling when you have to ask if you can hang something on the wall or not. When you have your own place, the only person you have to ask is yourself.*dancing the happy dance for you*

Congratulations, cream
Living with the in-laws must not be very comfortable for you but I think having to live in a motel must be worse. I am glad you have found your new apartment.
Cheers!

oh! i sure do remember it my friend. and i am just so glad to know about this. that you already did have an apartment of your own. specially with your family as well. its really much nice and good to have your very own place. and not to be with our relatives. well its somewhat not appropriate i guess. i am just so happy that you did make it and that pays well to just trust and pray to God always!

I know that you are so excited! When my mom was sick and we were in the proces of building our house on the back of their property, we had to live with my mom and dad for 8 months. They were the longest 8 months of my life! No privacy, all of us crammed in one room and the girls having to sleep n the living room on the couch. I couldn't fix some things we were used to eating because my step dad didn't like it and said you're not sitting by me and eating that. Hope you'll post some pics soon!

Wow, that's an amazing difference. I bet your apartment seems huge, especially since you have three bedrooms and 1 and a half baths. That's excellent. And it is a lot more space then most people have in the houses that they own. I hope you will continue to do well. It just goes to show what a little faith can do...or should I say a lot of faith. Good for you!!!

That's AWESOME news cream!! I can just feel your excitement!! You and your family have been stuck in that hotel room for too long. Hubby and I were stuck in one for a couple of months with 6 pets and it was a nightmare! We had to constantly take our dogs for walks and even had one cat that had to go for a walk every night. When we finally got our house, we couldn't be more happier. Good luck to you my friend!

hi cream 97 that is great, and what a relief after the
motel I can just imagine. Three bedrooms and 1.5 baths that
is fantastic. Enjoy all that room and with children and
all. Also it must be so great not to be with in laws
as that can get old fast. I was lucky when my hubby was
alive as we lived here in Ca and my in laws lived in Washington
state. Distance in this case did make our hearts grow
fonder. However my mother in law really was a lovely person
except for her super strict Seventh day Adventist stuff.
I am a protestant and go to the Methodist church and I dislike
the strict crap of the Adventist religion.

Hi cream97,
Congratulations!!!!! hun, you derseve your own apartment after all the hardship you went through, I do remember the motel you were living in and how horrid it was for you, with those problems of towels and everything else, you will get used to being a mistress of your won place now and no one can tell you, you can't do this, you can't do that, enjoy it, you are home.

Congratulations on finally moving into your own place! It must have been hard living in other people's homes. And that motel was even worse! I can't imagine myself living in a motel. I'm really glad that you finally found that apartment. I am a person who loves privacy, so I can understand what you had to go through. Having privacy is very liberating.

Congratulations. Living such a spacious and comfortable new house is really an amazing thing.
But compared with you, I am not such a lucky one indeed. When you are ready to get used to being in your own place and new apartment, I have to work hard to make much more money and to buy a new house for me, which is really a difficult task for me to do in the coming several years. For the keen competition, I have to work for a low-paid job.
I am waiting the new house for me. Enjoy a better life in your new house.

Hello cream. I am glad that you have finally moved into your new apartment, which is good news to hear. I totally agree with you that you have more privacy in your own apartment instead of sharing one with the others. Privacy is the most important for us. I wish you to enjoy every moment in your new apartment. Cheers, friend.

cream97,
Congratulations!
This is really wonderful to know especially during challenging times like these. It sure beats those horrible daily rated motels and living with your in-laws. I hope that all will work out fine in due time for the whole family.
Just can't help recalling my experience of moving into a place of my own - designed finishings, fittings, that massage chair I so longed to own, the lounge and etc.. I am sure that you will be enjoying it.
Home Sweet Home.

Nothing like your own place really. And your prayers have been answered. Certainly, you've been doing something right for the universe to listen to you! I hope you enjoy your new life with your family.
