Does It Really Matter Who Got Elected Yesterday?

Does it really matter who got elected yesterday? Who actually turned out to vote and how many people voted? It probably doesn't matter because the real election is in 3 years and the person running will be to focal point.

Sure it matters... The Presidential race may be the most important, but the civil system relies on local officials too.

Well, it kind of really matters. These are the people who run the local governments, who might assist in the state, and federal levels later on--or now. So yeah...elections are important in a Democracy. The President is but one individual, there are many more people that run day-to-day activities within a community. The President does not make sure your neighborhood has enough water...that's between the local officials and the state.. you know what I mean?
