Hoe to keep Password Protection for External harddisk

Hi friends i got 500gb external hard-disk, in that i got my personal stuff i wan to keep password for that, for example if my hard-disk used in another system it should not open, that should be open in my system only is there any software if so please tel me, sorry i am poor in English.

it's better to encrypt your data instead of providing password.. because any autorun file/ software won't work if you change OS (i.e. Windows to Linux) but mostly encrypted softwares are available for windows and linux both.. TrueCrypt is free software to encrypt your data.
