There were 3 goals made by CSKA in the last match against Man. United. I think we should worry about the defense for the next match in the Premiere League against Chelsea. Chelsea have great strikers. The defense line is not as strong enough as in the last season. Let's hope Rio and Vidic join the squad in that match.

It is not only the defence proper that is a problem with Manchester United, it the defensive play in the midfield as well.Too many balls are coming through the midfield to the defenders, ball snatching from the opposition gets better only after the Premier League giants are either stung by a goal or there are 2 or 3 shots at goal which are close shaves. The EPL,frankly, is not providing very many quality oppositions this year other than the top six or seven teams. The rest are playing very ordinary football and are no threat to the big names. This probably is not helping the cause in the Champions League matches at all.

I personally think the "defensive problems" are being exaggerated as Rio had not long been back from injury which everyone takes a little time to get back to their best from. Vidic and Ferdinand are the best central defensive pairing in the World and I fully expect them to show that once they have played together for a few games in a row, It's stop start at the moment and I feel it's more about the very strong play of the teams we have been up against recently.

Exactly my thought. Rio is already shown that he has slowed up considerably this year and that means his major advantage is nullified. Vidic has shown that against strong center forwards he is a bit dicey and Drogba would love to do a Torres on him. I think Chelsea will be a real test for Man U and will be the first indicator whether Man U can mount a real challenge on the title this year or not. Of course, I expect all the players to be up for the match, but whether the talent would be good enough to stop Chelsea, still needs to be seen. Cheers! Ram

Yes, defense has been a problem this season for sure. But, as Neville said, Injuries to players has led to a lot of shuffling at the back due to which there has been lack of consistency. The situation should improve once Ferdinand comes back from injury to support Vidic in the centre of defense. Right now, I feel Vidic and Evans should be a decent combination against the rampaging Chelsea side. Lets wait and watch this weekend.

If Gary Neville stays fit then with a back four of Evra, Vidic, Ferdinand and Neville will undoubtedly help with our Defence. We have a great Defence when we have our main players fit.

In my opinion their defence's performance. But maybe their midlefiender too. There are too much player who have attacking position. Hergreaves can be alternative MD in there since anderson was too much in front. Hopefully next match ferguson have found formation better. Have a nice day dude.

Well you can say our defenders looked shabby, but I don't blame them as we were playing a carling cup defense Vs the former Russian champions who were actually playing good football. Krasic looked like a great player and he really out did Fabio at LB. After Evra/Obertan was introduced then the game changed.
