"Article XIII, ยง13
Marriage. Section 13. [As created Nov. 2006] Only a marriage between one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage in this state. A legal status identical or substantially similar to that of marriage for unmarried individuals shall not be valid or recognized in this state. [2003 J.R. 29, 2005 J.R. 30, vote Nov. 2006]"
That is the language clearly stated in the Wisconsin State Constitution. King Doyle and his mindless Democrat minions passed a law that creates "parnter registries" that gay people can participate in to have the state recognize their relationships.
There are three problems with this law.
The first is, as you can see, blatantly unconstitutional.
The next is that it was passed as part of a budget bill... according to the Wisconsin State Constitution, laws cannot be multi purpose. If it has nothing to do with the subject in the title of the bill, it is illegal to add it. What does the establishment of these registries have to do with the state budget?
Many states have some form of these registries, but few of them only allow gay people to participate. To create a special program for gay people, but no one else is blatant discrimination.
So where does the judicial activism come in?
The slime that infests the Wisconsin State Supreme Court has refused to hear a case challenging the registries on the above grounds.
Whether you agree with ssm or oppose it, no one can defend such a monstrous display of contempt for the state Constitution and rule of law. The cowards on the Wisconsin high could should be reminded that the only reason they have any authority at all is the state constitution grants it of them...
Of course, the anti Constitution street gang known as the ACLU applauded this action... which of course shows the world that the gaggle doesn't give a flying flip about the rule of law or the Constitution either.
I dare anyone to defend this illegal act. The members of the Wisconsin Supreme Court should be disbarred for violating their offices and their law licenses.
If they are too incompetent to do their jobs, they are stealing their paychecks.

Thank you, ParaTed, for your insightful and thoughtful discussion. You are discerning and right in your outline and assessment of the issues. There is no defense for violation of the Constitution; it is lawlessness per se. Thank you for pointing out the vile corruption and discrimination in creating a "protected" class in face of violation of the law and equal justice. America has lost its grip on moral reality as the cancer of corruption spreads. All of the separation of powers has been violated and any semblance of justice and truth have been blurred beyond recognition.
The ACLU has long been a bastion of hatred of and discrimination against America's Judeo-Christian moral base and family values, so that's no surprise. The whole situation is revolting and repugnant to anyone with an ounce of character and wisdom.
Much of our nation has descended into idocy and deception of the worst kind. There is no defense or rationality for such stupidity and malice.

It's simple. When people of a society have decided they would rather be slaves than be free, there is little stopping them from getting their goal.

Especially those who are supposed to be the ones tasked with interpreting it!

You are right. They are absolutely stealing their paychecks. They are judges who are scared to make a decision, they are jokes.

True, and unconstitutional law passed illegally, and the court is too cowardly to do their jobs!
