I'll just say it took me a year to complete gears 1. As far as gears 2 you really have to spent a year of game play to complete it. I plan to complete it but i was wondering how this mad others feel. Is this game and the games today are so indepth that they aren't fun but more like a job? Or is it that we enjoy repetitive, easy, task task that are rewarding in some way? Either way i'd like to know what addict you to video games. Acheivements and trophys are not an acceptable answer. The winner will be the one who's cause i most identify with, DCSTREETS

I've had Gears of War 1 & 2 for a year and still haven't gotten all the achievements. Especially the online ones since I don't have xbox live. I don't really care though but if a friend wanted to help me then that would be okay. I actually have more achievements for the second gears than I do for the first one. Seriously 2.0 100,000 kills is pretty boring to get sometimes. I think I'm at 10,000 kills. I don't really like becoming obsessed with a game. I really do like the achievements but I don't want them to take away from the fun of the game.
I also love Resident Evil and Silent Hill because they scare me. I used to watch my bro play but then I decided I wanted to be scared too. Survival Horror is my main genre but I also like Action, cop games, grand theft auto etc.
I've been playing games for 15 or so years because it's an escape and it's fun to play, especially with brothers/sisters. I'd be pretty bored without video games!
