Its natural that people like other people and dislike others. I see lots of it especially at work situations. A lot of managers are not professional to at least try to appear objective and fair, so favoritism always manifest through their actions.
Why does display of favoritism come so easily to some folks? Are they so enamored by selected few persons that they are blind to others?
Just curious...

This is commonly referred to as Favoritism in the Workplace and it happens a lot. A good case is if you have a person you work with you is your equal but you seem to get more done than they do and you seem to work harder than they do but your boss is always given them praise and talking with them about important things that are happening in the company.
I have experience this when I was working in a furniture company. I have a lot of things to do and do multiple tasks. I am more knowledgeable in the company but never recognize because our president have a favoritism and there are co-employee who is sip-sip or making up stories just to make themselves to be praised. Even if they are not doing those things.
It is important to know what you should do in a situation like this. You should know there are option that you have which are, you can try to speak with the superior and maybe find a like interest that you may have so that it will be easier to communicate with them. Also you might want to decide if this job is really what you want because you may be in a no win situation.
Blowing the whistle is a tough thing to do especially if you are going above your supervisors head and talking with there boss about the situation. This can be a very dicey situation and should be thought out before making a move like this.
You must have a positive attitude at work and you need to make sure you are appreciated for your skills and if you are not because of favoritism you need to know your options.

Favoritism they are always visible not only in professional setting even at homes, with friends, office mates or ordinary peers. They are handful collection of favorites including things and people. Fortune favor those who have a greater reputation rather than those who have no charisma. Some may be intelligent but still lacking in terms of having great personality.

Yeah, that is very true and many get blinded with the physical appearance that is the world is made up now as the more glamorous and sophisticated you become more popular which quickly diminish the inner beauty entirely. Have a great day!

Hi,friend, yes,as a human being one can't escape from favoritism, may from from small favour to big deal or do favour to own people or distant people.
But some times because of this favoritism, many times leads to collapse the field,it may be personal or it may be related to business or career...
Where ever professionalism develops in work atmosphere, there we can find development.
