what's your favorite phone?

My Favourite phone was the ancient wooden cranker we had on the kitchen wall in the old farmhouse. There were 9 families on our line, and when ever the phone rang it seemed like everybody would rush to the phone, lift the receiver off the hook and listen in, to hear what was going on in the neighborhood. It was so handy when your kitchem clock stopped in the night. Just ring one short ring and the telephone operator would answer. When you told her your problem she told you the time, and the clock was on the hour once again. Oh! them was the good olde days!
