I am to paint my house and I am undecided as to what color will I choose. The current color of my house is white and I don't want it anymore. Could you suggest what is the best color that is not boring? Thank you.

I can see what you mean. I like white, but solid white could get a little boring. Have you thought of beige? Or taupe? We are going to be painting soon, and I'm kinda embarassed to say this, but I've been driving around looking at houses I like. I saw a beautiful home last weekend that was beige or cream, with a taupe border. It looked simple but classy and it seems like that color combination would hold up well to the weather. A good reference point with some wonderful ideas ( wow, I love them...I should make up a card and pass it out, lol) is http://www.housepaintingtutorials.com/house-paint-colors.html I hope you love what you wind up with...good luck! We had our house painted a couple of years ago and we did each room a different color. One thing I would highly reommend is having an accent wall in each room. Sure makes the rooms look so nice. We did a bright burgandy wall in our living room area along with white walls for the rest of the room. It looks just great and we get more compliments. Know what you mean about all white walls. Can get pretty boring.

I love your suggestions. I also want different colors for each room. I will be having an accent wall for it adds color to the house. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

hi dorisday1971 That all depends on whether or not you have a homeowner's association where you live. if you do they are going to have something to say about what color you may choose,if you are lucky and do not have such a thing, I would suggest a nature's shade of green.that is soothing and easy to live with and would blend well with any landscaping you may have.

Thank you for sharing your views. . . We have a home association here but we can choose our own color. .. I just don't like to have green for there are many houses here in our village which are colored green.

What's wrong with white???? I like white. Can I vote to keep it white??? One thing you might consider is to use gloss instead of flat paint. The gloss will last longer.

there is nothing wrong with white. I just want a new color for the house since we have this white color of the house for more than five years. I want a vibrant color.
