Should we compare ourselves with others?

In our culture people frequently advise us to compare ourselves with others.They say,for example,"you shoule be like your father,"or "You can win;the others aren't as good as you."How far do you agree with these people?

hi vincyk oh I hate that comparing thing,it does so much damage 'to a person's self esteem.okay so I am not like my sister because I am me,I am good at what I do but I do not have some of her talents and so what. we should treat our children as individuals,and not compare them to anyone at all.We should value each other for what we are,not for what we do not do as well as some relative or friend. I do so hate this.

Yep,i am quite agree with your opinion.I think i will try to be myself and ignore their judges.Just be myself~
