Every time there's a tourist people coming for China, Korea, Japanese or other countries which has the same cute little eye, I can't never guess if he's a Chinese, a Japanese or a Korean. Any help my Chinese friends?

I am Chinese, from my point of view, only a few asian people looks just like Korean, Japanese, or Chinese. I can't even distinguish all of them only by the face. Why don't you just ask them directly, It's much easier. When you made many friends with people from China, Japan and Korea, you'll know that although we have the same cute little eye, there are lots of difference between us from inside.

Yes, i did a lot of asking what nationality they are. It looks awkward for them to answer this question.

I'm not Chinese, anyway. Not sound ignorant, but you can't differ them because they belong in the same race. It's like when you are trying to differ an American, Australian and British, and by their physical experience, you can't really do that. I think the only thing to find out is by hearing the language/accent they speak.

I meant 'not to sound ignorant'. Sorry for the typos.

Actually, it's also has some difficult to distinguish a Chinese from Japanese or Korean if only from their appearance even for me, a local Chinese guy...from common sense, the only method I can remind is Chinese is a little bit taller and Japanese and Korean for most of the people, but it's also absolute right...the best way I think is judging from their language speaking, of course not for their english speaking, only from their local language speaking...thanks and happy mylotting

sorry, some mistake...in the line 3, should be taller than not and, in the line 4, should be it's also not absolute right...

hi fulltank, since they are all yellow race and they have nearly the same habits and customs, it is diificult to identify them just from appearances. but some differences might be found such as the accent, good luck~

hi fulltank^^;; i've been seeing lots of Japanese, Chinese and Korean in my place nowadays and have some friends of them too. i also had the same question the first time i encountered them but as time goes by..in a way i can separate them according to their fashion; clothing and hairstyle; and ofcourse when they talk. try to notice the way they dress and how they have their haircut. although it doesn't apply to all but it may help you.

there really is no way to distinguish chinese, japanese and korean from each other, the only difference i can point out is the cultural traditions they each have from one another, thats like asking, whats the difference between anglo-saxon from germanic? its not real easy to distinguish. Hope that helped.
