The story says that Devil rebelled against God. This is something to be pondered.
Surely the Devil must have had a very good reason for rebelling against God. Why would he rebel without a solid reason?
God must have done something very bad. The Devil saw this and he must have been horrified, shocked. His conscience made him question God.

Yes, of course the devil had a reason - a very good reason.
In fact, he had the same reason that mankind has today.
You can call it pride, or jealousy, or just plain old stubborn self-will, or a few other things, but the devil wanted his own way. He wanted to call the shots. He wanted to do his own thing. He wanted to be his own boss. He wanted everything.

The devil rebelled against because he wanted to ascend to heaven and exalt his throne above the stars of GOD... The devil wanted to be like the Most High because of his envy and pride. Isaiah 14:12-15. The devil or lucifer was called son of the morning because he was beautiful above all angels in heaven. Envy and pride took his heart to act like God and became a fallen angel to earth.
