Barack Obama became the President of United states one year ago. People have lot of hope from him. But I think so far he has failed to address some of the issues. I don't want to discuss the issues in particular. But if you have to rate his performance, how you will rate it in scale of 1 to 5 ( 1-very bad, 2-Bad, 3-Average, 4-Good, 5- Very good)?

I believe Obama is a one term president. I also believe that he and his entire election entourage knew that wht they were about to perpetrate on the US wouldn't be very popular but could be successful given the unprecidented majorities in both houses. Obama is more than just another liberal he is a statist with an agenda of totally changing the face of America. His agenda is more than just socialism or even communism because what he is striving for is total redistribution of everything and all of it controlled by the government. Right now he is on track to make this happen and if he and his accomplices in congress succeed in getting control of America's health care industry I don't believe there wil be a way to stop him short of total rebellion and a revolution which will be very bloody. So, if you ask me about Obama's performance it will run something like this:
As far as doing anything good and constructive for America and her citizens he get's an F but as far as achieving his goals and sticking to his agenda no matter who it hurts then he get's a huge A+.

Before the election I also had a thought that he will totally change United States. But till so far there is no such change in United states. May be he is only a person who believe in speaking but not in doing.

UGH...man i hate to have to do this....but for now he gets a 3...because although he has lots of great plans...he has spent way too much time on frivolous things and he could be putting that time to better use..and he has made some questionable discussions lately and Im still waiting for the transparency myself....I want to be able to go on the website and see exactly what is being done and when ...isnt that what he told us he was going to do or did i misunderstand him?
believe it or not i think he tries to be too diplomatic....i am all for diplomacy and trying to find common ground with others...but at some point you have to be able to realize when the other side just aint gonna budge and forge ahead....He need to stop trying to coddle EVERYONE and trying to get everyone over to his side and make some darn decisions!
Im still rooting for him and i hope and pray he is who he told us he is but i have my reservations too!

1. He has done nothing but hurt America from the first day he took office. Unemployment is the highest it's been since 1983, consumer confidence is down, his ratings are way down, he's shown an immature and unprofessional attitude in his war with Fox News as well as any conservative media personalities, he pushes things in a panic, then thumbs his nose at people who protest. Our international image is embarrassing. He doesn't understand diplomacy and continues to make empty promises that he can't fulfill.

I also doubt his diplomacy skills. Because he is always trying to please all the parties in any dispute or issue. That is why I doubt his diplomatic actions. But I might be wrong. The time will tell this.

I would rate him at about a -2. The economy is failing, unemployment is still rising, our enemies abroad are smiling, and he wont take responsibility for ANYTHING! He has appointed an unbelievable amount of extremists with out senate confirmation, he has stomped our constitution at every turn.
But I will say this - he told every body "We are going to fundamentally change America" this promise he seems to want to keep.

I believe he is doing exactly what he said he would do and that's why I refused to vote for him. With his promises of handouts to everyone, he forgot to mention the repayment he expected.
His performance is a minus 5 at this point. He is one of the worst presidents ever in D.C.
He had the chance to make history in the best way and is destroying our country in the worst way.
He truly is like FDR in that he's sending us deeper into unemployment and finding every way possible for the government to take over the private sector.

I'll rate a 1- very bad.
He's increased our deficit so rapidly and recklessly- in just 5 or 10 years or less the dollar will be destroyed by this! Along with our economy.
He's only provided more of the same, more government and less freedom.
He has made no actions to get us out of unnecessary wars which we cannot afford in the first place.
I could go on...
I would like to rate him -5 if possible
Bush would also get a negative rating.

More and more I see him as a cardboard cut out. I would rate him 5 for sticking to the agenda of those behind him, what with all the extremely left appointments (w/o congressional oversight I might add!) and downright shady characters (talk about Chicago politics!) But as far as what is good for this (once) Constitutional Country I'd give him less than a 1. He's been extremely good at changing the checks and balance on governmental rights, that's the opposite of what tyhis country was founded on and for a time thrived by..

[b]Actually--though the so-called "mainstream media" refuse to report it, that's millions of people who are complaining!
There are many ways to prove this, not the least of which is the "pink slip" movement, which has sent over 4 & a half million slips to Washington, telling those there that certain actions will result in their losing the next round of elections.
The top action which will get them fired is the one nearest & dearest to Obama's...well, I was going to say heart, but he showed he doesn't have one of those with his cheery "shout out" to someone, before he plastered on a look of solemnity to talk about the Ft. Hood massacre.... Anyway, as I was going to say, the health care reform bill is at the top of the list. It is extremely unpopular, for extremely good reasons!
By the way, to put it in perspective, the stack of pink slips is now taller than the Sears Building. And there are other measurements available, if you look for them.
I'm just sayin'....

[b]Mysticothermaggie (), I think the poster is a prime example of the kind of jellobrain who didn't bother to learn what O was about before voting for him. Some people are just a waste of skin, y'know? No complaints or compliments!? What sort of cave does this person inhabit? I just gotta wonder...

Foreign policy wise, I would give him a 3 (harsh) or 4 (generous). He has certainly changed the tone, but we have yet to see concrete results (ie a new Start treaty with Russia, climate change deal, Israel-Palestine conflict)
Domestically, I would only give him a 2 so far, though I think expectations of a quick economic turnaround are overblown - economies are like super tankers, they take time to turn around. On other things, like healthcare, much debate but no concrete results as yet.
To be honest, I take the view that it is difficult to pass judgement on a new administration unless they have been in office for around 2 years. If by then, Obama and the Dems cannot show some results domestiscally (economy / jobs / healthcare) or foreign policy wise (Afghanistan / Russia relations / climate change / Israel-Palestine), then they will get spanked in the mid-terms and rightly so. If on the other hand they can show some results and some good work in progress, then they may do reasonably well in the mid-terms, though I suspect they will still lose seats even in this scenario (inevitable electoral pendulum will swing back to the Republicans - the question is by how much and that will largely be determined by Obama's and the Dems' peformance over 2 years)

Has he changed the tone in foreign affairs?? He's gone everywhere telling them how awful the United States is and apologizing profusely for our country existing. He talked with Iran and just this week they snubbed anything he thought he got, saying they refused to go along with his wishes or the UN's. Russia is looking and laughing at his weak-kneed approach. They figure they have him where they need him. He figured if he bowed to other leaders and accepted their trash books and cut the country he leads to ribbons, he could ask for help in Afghanistan and get it....NOPE. They told him forget it. Bush did much better at getting assistance from other countries. Misspeaking cowboy he might have been, but every world leader knew he would fight for his country! They have no such thoughts when it comes to Obama. Look at how he's hanging our men and women out to dry without even sending more of OUR troops to help. Can't seem to make up his feeble mind.

Since Obama seems bent on taking our freedoms from us and turning us into a socialist nation, I'd rate him 1 - very bad. But while I disagree with his goals, I'm more disappointed in the way our nation, except for a few, seems blind to his schemes. It makes me wonder, have we become so dull that we can't see what's happening to us?

I would have to rate him a 1 for sure. People hated Bush because government spending increased way too much during his term so they voted for Obama. Now he is increasing spending by huge amounts, way more than Bush and his supporters think that it's ok now. I just can't figure that one out and how anyone thinks that the economy can be fixed by increased government spending and then increasing taxing. How can you fix too much spending by spending even more? It just doesn't make sense. I believe he is running this country toward ruin. Now, if this healthcare bill actually gets passed, to the tune of 1.2 trillion dollars, we will be well on the path to bankrupting the country.
Those Americans old enough to remember the high interest, high unemployment and runaway inflation we had under Jimmy Carter will realize what I'm talking about. Those were tough times but it will be much worse this time around because the deficits are much higher so the results will be greatly increased. The results of the actions he is taking now typically lag behind by a year or more so as he is increasing the money supply now, (government printing more money and adding it into the system) we will start to see bad things start to happen in another year or so. Watch for the fed increasing interest rates and that will be a tipoff that it's starting, then hang on, it's going to be a rough ride.

..Hi dsachiever, How about we let the man have at least one year in office, since it took the previous administration eight years to put us in this crappy situation.
It is going to take time for the things implemented to take hold, with the jobs being the last to move in any measurable way. The fall out is going to continue. With the growth in the third quarter, if it holds, there appears to be movement. But I am certainly willing to give him and his administration time to show progress. Naturally all of those who can't stand him period won't have a single good word to say, it's as someone stated sometime ago, "If I walked on water, they would say I couldn't swim", so those people can sit on the sidelines and watch the parade. They would have rather had Senator McCain with his dementia and crazy Sarah, so just watch and weep as things turn around and those one term wishes vanishes. Easy does it. The Nobel prize committee recognized that he has such potential, they gave him a shield to ward off the negative opposition, I love it. Those wishing him ill, all almost blew an artery when it was announced. Amazing. Right now
I give him a 6 for being the hardest working, smartest, most articulate president we have had in a long time. Cheers!

The Pulitzer is supposed to be for achievement not for possible achievement. So far he has not achieved much except to put us further in debt than Bush ever thought of doing.
I was not happy with Bush throughout his terms, but at least I knew he had guts enough to stand up for his country. This president seems to be too busy kissing foreign rearends as he apologizes for us being alive.
Give him another term and our country will be worse off than the President's brother!

...Hey there mysticmaggie, The Nobel Prize not the Pulitzer, that's another category, is given for potential achievement, although Obama's was a combination, because immediately by virtue of him being elected, he took America from being one of the worst perceived countries in the world to one of the top, by just being elected. Check all the polls, they verify that fact. Another thing, Rubin, Peres, Arafat and Kissinger all received Nobel prizes for what they were trying to do, research it if you want. So this is not unprecedented. If you know anything about economics you would then realize that it takes much more than eight months to have the kind of state that our economy is in. This is from the causal effects of the previous administration's policies and procedures. This man has not been in office long enough to have 10% unemployment. This is the fallout from everything that was going on before he was even a Senator, give me a break. And lastly the policies his administration is employing are starting to effect the economy in a positive way, the 3rd quarter GDP was around 3.5% positive, that means the economy is growing, with the implementation of the things they have done. His administration saved us from the brink of destruction, whether you and others realize it or not. No problem with being in a state of denial, but please just get the facts straight.
You take care and please be a little more diligent. You don't have to like the man or give him and his helpers credit, but he is working daggone hard to stabilize
the country's economic system, improve education, influence climate change, finish two wars and any number of other problems facing the US. The country was bankrupt prior to Mr. Bush leaving office, we are printing money without any gold backing.
We have been bankrupt for a long time, sorry can't lay that little gem at
Obama's doorstep. China has the mortgage on the White House with the debt owed from borrowing by the US, again most of it prior to Obama's oval occupancy. And he wanted to be president and help the country and the people. My, my, my. So party on. Cherrio!

[b]How about negative 10? This guy is a pretender to the office, he's shredding the Constitution in every way possible as far as he & his cohorts can, he's given us a debt our grandkids won't finish paying off--yet he wants to add more--he's clamping down on free speech, he lies about everything, he's a Marxist--I mean, what's to like? In short, he's harming America. He's committed impeachable offenses, & he should be impeached!
I know, I know...tell us how you really feel!

I voted for Barack Obama and I would have to give him a 4 for good. He became President with alot on his plate due to the horrible eight years which Bush put us in. It will take probably another two years to clean up the mess. To many people were expecting miracles from President Obama but that was not being realistic at all. It will all take time but with God's help we should be back on track within two years.

i don't think ihave the right to judge the performance of the US President since am foreign and can only rate politicians in my country. but for me, i
believe he's doing his best, trouble is that more people expect a lot from him. this reminds of what happened after we ouster a president and the VP assumed power, we qcuickly judge that new President and immediately lunch another protest, which failed. but now we hated her because she kept doing bad things to the government and kept lying and breaking her promise.

From the minute I laid eyes on this man and heard him speak, my gut seized up and I have been heartsick ever since. It is so painfully obvious to even the most foolish that this is a man who HATES America and Israel and is a devout Muslim radical. There is even a video of him declaring himself Muslim and speaking flawlessly in their language.
While he is a usurper, de facto "president" here and everything he does is illegal, immoral and with intent to harm, depending on the perspective of the individual doing the "rating", here goes:
If you hate America and are a radical of any kind: he would get a very good rating, for joy of his committing jihad: the destruction of western civilization from within.
While deliberately bankrupting us and subverting the Constitution and making a haven for our enemies, he earns at least a 5 from those who wish our destruction.
As for me, less than zero would be close, not 1)very bad, but abominably evil in his malice toward us, his intent to dismantle and destroy us, and his every word, thought, deed, and policy DESIGNED to do us IRREVOCABLE HARM and make us PAY for having been a free nation.
