Be a better listener

It's quite important and necessary to be a excellent listener,excellent listening is more than simple avoiding the bad habit of interupting talker's speaking.slowing down your response and It's impatient to listen to the entire thought of the taker's than just waiting your turn or chance to response.Do share here with you.

hi lichee... well i would say i am a very good listener, certainly not the excellent one 
... i have quite some patience listening to all my dear ones, i don't really speak or interrupt much but yeah i can confidently say i listen to anything they are saying, i don't know why but i can't ignore anything they are saying i mean even if i find them quiet boring, but if they keep on saying like that then i do give them a hint i want to hear something different, but when my friends are low i can listen to anything they have to say and respond accordingly, okay now to me it seems like i am boasting here, but m not lol... all my friends or for that matter anybody who knows me, all of them say i am a good listener, the only problem is that i don't really talk much unless i am excited about something and i want to say about it... listening is quite an important thing i have to say, there is so much to gain out of it, mostly when i listen to elders talking i get to learn so many things about life, and yeah you begin to observe so many things around, i have to say that to some extent good listeners make good observers as well... sometimes there is so many things running in our heads and we don't talk much others wonder what is going in our heads

Listening is one of the most important qualities we can develop.
I have been a counsellor for many years. Sometimes it is not necessary to give advice, because when people are allowed to vocalise their thoughts, they are able to piece together their thoughts and see their problem in a different light. Then, it only takes a few well chosen words, and they are able to discover the solution for themselves.
In families, it is essential for the parents to listen to their children as well as the other way around. In business, the employee who listens will get ahead more quickly. In friendships, listening is the best gift you can give to a friend.
Yes, the art of listening can be and should be developed by all.

Yeah,you are right,we all should be a good listener.It's nice that the parents listen to their children tell their advice and thought,When i was a child,mom always told me what to do and how to do,seldom listen my thought.thanks for your coming.

i can say that be a good listener is not sunch a good thinck... becose all the people came to you and maybe you have times when you don't wan't to listen...

Hi Lichee. I agree. Truly listening to those around us shows respect, helps us learn, and can prevent many misunderstandings. We miss so much when we are only half paying attention when another is trying to talk with us.

I cannot agree with you more. Everyone is born with one mouth but two ears. why? God wants us to listen more and talks less, for the mouth has to be used to eat other than speaking. So to be a good listener is the basic quality of everyone. But in real life, most of us forget it and want to make us listen to us, always talk without stop.
