Tell us what you feel about it. There is this young guy, who due to circumstances falls into this bad company.in his late teens he turns an alcoholic, is violent, is involved in petty thefts, and is a substance abuser. To meet up with these daily demands of his he just happens to break in a house; supposedly should be vacant. But the owner is present in there and this boy is very upset about it. he was already high and kills the man gruesomely. The murder is really atrocious and truly depicts how evil a man can be. The accused is sentenced to death. There are proceedings and numerous mercy petitions but all are rejected. Finally, say, after about 10-15 years this convict is supposed to be executed. While on his death- row he is enlightened and realizes his folly. he comes to know how evil he were. How effortlessly his conscience allowed him to take the life of another human-being. He is repenting. Is truly sorry. Now someone is really fighting hard for his case and wants the court to lessen the severity of the punishment. There is a faint gleam of hope to cling on to dear life. The convict now starts believing in God and miracles. he really hopes, cries and begs for a second chance. Do you think he deserves that? If No, then, why just not to execute him immediately, why let him reform in the prison? I think to let him change in the prison is inhuman, he should be executed as soon as he was pleaded guilty. What's your thought? (Remember he was young when he did the horrid act, he has gained some sense now, though the loss to the aggrieved is permanent).

Even ten year old children know that its wrong to kill people. It took so many in prison to make him understand that he was wrong. If he is let free or punishment is changed then other criminals will also act the same. I agree with you on hanging the criminal sooner rather than wait a long time.

Hi Vanillarey, Thats the drawback of we humans. if one is truly sorry for his deeds and if the society at large feels to forgive him, then many others would try to thrive onto that example even if he isn't truly repenting. Its a bit difficult for a valid explanation I guess. Thats why probably I suggested to act in haste and finish off the matter. But here my fellow mylotters have put in some real insightful thoughts which tells me to think otherwise. Great place is this; Mylot.

It really unfortunate that this guy is going through this. Everyone deserves a second chance the guy should keep praying. God works wonders.
