I died last night....

Well not really, otherwise I would obviously not be here discussing this with you all!
Last night I had probably one of the weirdest dreams that I have ever had. I dreamt that I was dead, but I did not know how I had died and I could still communicate with my wife and kids. It was like I was some sort of ghost, but they could not see me or feel me, although they could hear my voice. I could see them though.
The only way that they could see me was if I was next to a glass window, as I was able to leave my hand prints and breath on the glass! My wife told me that I could only do this for a limited time and I could only do it because I has only just died.
It was then that I woke up with a start and was feeling very emotional as I went back over my dream in my head. It took me quite a while to get back to sleep!
This was a pretty weird dream!
What do you think it means?
Please let me know if you have had any weird dreams, especially ones regarding your own death!
I would love to hear your thoughts on this!

That was really scary and sad! I also don't know what it means but I hope it is just a "dream" that doesn't have any meaning at all. Take care Rawbill1!

It was very sad. I too hope that it was not some look into the future as my children were still young in it!
Thanks for your comments!

Well thank goodness you didn't leave us then... you had to come back to earth just so you could My Lot with me! Had any good ones since? I can't say I've ever had one quite like yours. It must have been terrible. Here are some more thoughts to add to those of the masses.
You really were meant to die that night. It seems you had the merit for this to occur only in your dream. This is rare, but quite possible, especially more so because of your diet, lifestyle, etc. Another situation happened to a different person altogether (true story), was that a child in the family was meant to die on a certain day, but a pet cat whom the family took very good care of, volunteered to die in the child's place. The only thing that would bother me, if this ever happened to me, would be the part about being a ghost with such limited abilities. I'd be regretful that I didn't have the merit to be more than this. I'd not want to die this way if it were me. What I'd get from it is that I'd concentrate on building my merits more, like giving more in charity, not lying / stealing / taking intoxicants, etc, but doing the opposite, as well as meditating more & reading more holy books, etc.
OK, that was way deep. Hope it helps, but if not, well, it's out there!

Wow, I had completely forgotten about this discussion!
I have not had any weird dreams such as this one since then fortunately. Your comments, although quite deep, do make sense. I am striving to be this better person. Meditating more and reading the Bhagavad Gita and Autobiography of a Yogi are on my list of things to do.

I really hate bad dreams; makes me tick so much. Mine would be those trolls (and I mean a real looking troll; not troll from thelot.. ). Yeah, well back to the story, I dreamed of trolls and they were like big, slimy and greenish. Yucky sight, but as you know, in a dream, we can't control what happens next and stuff. So, I was like walking along this particular bridge and then the trolls were underneath. Too fairy-tale like, I know but that was what happened. And yeah, the rest of the story was a bit gory. I hate gory dreams, but since I was a part of it, I did smash some of the trolls. It was such a weird dream, made me wondering for days. And I also kept dreaming of white tigers. No linkage whatsoever..

Wow, that is a bit fairy tale like isn't it! A gory fairy tale...lol
I have never heard of people having dreams about trolls before, but I am sure that a lot of young kids would. Although it is pretty likely that they are not smashing them in their dreams!
White Tigers???? Not sure about that one!
Thanks for sharing zed! :-)

the extent of our consciousness of what we think before bed can actually happen in a dream. I think it is a sign which means that we must not leave the people closest distance from our lives. If we leave them, we will be haunted by the fear of losing. I ever dreamed in a good meal invited by my friend and it was really happening according to the dream I was having. But, sometimes dreams are not the same as we have experienced so we can not be sure what the meaning of the dream.

You are right about our state of mind before bed creeping into our dreams. I have noticed this a lot over the years!
You could be right about it meaning that I should not be leaving my loved ones. I was going away for the weekend early the next morning and leaving my wife and kids at home! I think you may be onto something here!

When I first got plantar fasciitis. I would dream about trying to walk, and not being able to, or run, or even trying to stand up.
Sometimes I dream I'm playing baseball, ball is hit to me in the outfield, but my arm is so weak I can't even throw it to the cut off man.
These dreams are actually weird for me, because I can control and change all my dreams, just not these kind.

Yes, I have had dreams like that in the past. And occasionally dreams of being a ghost! I has since discovered that this happens to other people as well and it is called out-of-the-body-experience (OOBE). It has not happened a great deal, but once I was watching people breaking the window on my car and stealing stuff that was in it. I woke up with a start, because it was very vivid. I thought, oh, it was only a dream! and went back to sleep. The following morning, I found the car window was broken exactly as I had seen it the night before and some valuable had been stolen. So I never discount dreams too much these days. Especially the vivid ones! - Derek

I have many dreams too just like that but I always know that I'm just dreaming. Often, I dreamed of having this amazing powers like flying, throwing fire power even having super strength which I could really control. I also have weird dreams too and some times I often forgot about what I dream but I do remember some of my dreams too..

Some times I too know that I am dreaming in the middle of a dream, but most of the time, they are real enough that I believe what is happening until I wake up!
I have had many dreams about being able to fly. This is one re-occurring theme that has has run through my dreams my whole life! I think it is pretty common to have have flying dreams.

I dream often to fall down from my bed! It is the strangest feeling you can feel, you wake up and realize you are safe on your bed!
