I deeply regret my reckless spending

4 days ago, while I was browsing around the electonics site on the net, I saw a brand new digital camera with Sony brand name on it, and it was one of my favorite brand, with all the new features. It was on a special sale with a price around $245. I like and I was contemplating should I buy it or not. It was in price a little bit out of my budget, but I still want it. So, go through some internal conflct of myself, I still bought it from the web. Now, the camera arrived, and I saw my another camera still in good condition, I kind of regret my reckless spending. Now, I have 2 cameras, and a week later, I have to bring my car to the shop for timing repair, then I gonna need extra $400 at least to get it done. I should better learn to resist the temptatio. Don't you regret on your reckless spending sometimes too?

Hi clorissa I too have spent money that I shouldn't have spent. I have this problem at christmas time. I will buy and buy knowing that it is going to hurt after the holidays. I have promised myself this year that I would shop wisely and not just because I think the grandkids would like it. We will see later on this year what happens. Have a great day and keep smiling.

If you learned lesson, you will know better what to do next. And should not commit the same mistake ever again. I would remind myself with this lesson imprinted on my brain. I should know better what I should take care of first.

Many times I can honestly say I have been in this boat, but often it is too late to change anything, and if I would not have spent it on the item I just did, I would probably have spent it on something else as well. But either way, I think the best thing to do, is to learn to really set yourself a Budget here, and plan accordingly. Like make yourself set some aside in Savings for rainy days, and then budget a little extra in for extras as well. I find if I stick to this, I find myself spending less at the spur of the moment for sure.

My girlfriend done that too, to buy something that is trivial at the moment. No matter how much advised I gave her. She could actually use that money to do something better. Now, it is the same for me. I felt so mortified.

If I were in your shoes, why should I regret and I must take things ahead for how to read about every problem there is an opportunity, at least. The main point now is to use it in generating an exponential growth in your income or earnings. Grouping yourself in photo club and network with club's members and they will lead you how to make money from your both cameras. Too much regretting is harmful to your brain development. Use your cameras to reach your life goal and gold. I don't see any good point for you to regret. Move forward and no point go stern, that's life which always on systematic lesson and learn. Now change your desire to necessity, Work hard is a must, work smart is a necessity, and work diligently is a priority.

Sounds like you are more serious on this matter than me. I do regret, because I already have one camera, but I couldn't resist the temptation of buying new one. I should know better what is on my priority list.

Oh goodness I know what you mean! Just the other day, I bought myself a purse that cost $50.00! It was on sale! There are cheaper purses at other stores, however, because this was a brand name purse, i too fell into temptation. I didn't take iot back but I vowed to be more careful in the future and search for better sales. Perhaps you should try to take it back and get a refund for your camera if you have the receipt.

I purchased it online, so I just decided to keep it, avoid the hassle of returning it through Fedex again. Also, they would reluctantly refund it to me electronically. So, I gonna keep it, and learn a lesson from it.

You might be able to send the new camera back and get your money returned to you. Cars have ongoing expenses like fuel and sometimes repairs. I had a problem with my digital camera. Therefore I got rid of it then bought a new digital camera. I am ever so happy that I got a new digital camera. Right now I am considering if I shoukd buy a new laptop so I could be about to do more spending. Good luck.

You're not the only one. There are times that I regret spending on something too. But fortunately, this doesn't happen often. I usually do OK in handling money, but sometimes I just can't resist the temptation to spend. But even if I want to control my spending, I still allocate budget for luxury because I believe in rewarding myself after working so hard to earn money.

I, too, am a victim of reckless spending. I end up buying things I don't really need just because I don't put too much thought when it comes to purchasing stuff. In the end, I find myself broke and I get a pile of clothes, gadgets, and whatnot in exchange for my hard-earned cash. I mean, it's a good thing that I've got all those stuff but I don't really get to use 'em so almost everything gets dumped around the house. Probably the thing to remedy such reckless spending is to weigh in the pros and cons in purchasing something and to know the difference between wanting an item and needing an item. :)

Too late for that, you cannot send it back anymore. Just enjoy your two cameras Well christmas is already near, why not give the old camera to someone who doesn't have a camera... Anyone you know or sell it perhaps...

it happens to the best of us. No matter how well you plan there is sometimes a moment of weakness when you give in to temptation and make an expenditure on something you should not have. From the days of Adam we have been giving in to temptation. It just shows you are human. If you have two cameras, why don't you sell off one and finance whatever you had to do?

Compared with you, I may enjoy a life of luxury. Everyday, I tend to spend much time on the Internet and I often loof for what I am interested in on eBay and other popular shopping online sites in my counry. Once I have found some goods that match my tastes, then I will purchase it despite the price. Of course, With the downturn of the economics, the life is becoming harder than before. So, I have to try my best to save some money. Every time when I find something attractive on these online shopping sites, then I visit myLot and forget that attractive goods.

Its good to treat yourself every once in a while, but do try to control these spending frendzies. For my wife and I it is pretty difficult, and one thing is for sure that the more you spend, the more you earn. I think that if you try just to sit at home and relax with what you have for a couple of weeks, you will break this kind of spell. It helped for my wife and I, maybe it can help you?

I think maybe everyone has the problem like you said. It's very normal that people can't control themself on consuming sometimes, when we see somenthing that we like very much,we may forget that we have to pay for the bill.though this is not a problem that cannot be resolved,we may choose one camera or something like that suits our budget. It's ok if we can do that.

Hi, clorissa. I'm sorry to hear about your regrets. Yeah, everyone in his or her may invest money on unnessary stuffs. In the beginning, we may think we are badly in need of them and can't resist to buy it. But after we actually bought it, we found we don't need them as much as we had thought. Then we began to regret reckless spendings because we can spend that money on other necessary things. But as you have done it, there is no use for regretting. As the idiom says, "It's no use crying over spilled milk." Just think it over your actual needs next time you invest. Good luck!

I think everybody once or twice in their life becomes reckless on spending money on things to please ourselves. It somehow makes us feel happier, better knowing we were able to purchase something we really really want at that moment in life. I admit I really feel great when I am in the point of buying the item but right after I feel so sad that I don't need the item and wished I could just take it back to the store to get a refund.

Many people have the same problem spending when we should save the money to buy something we real need or to pay of bills. I have been doing very good and not done any reckless spending for over a year now. But when I did spend money and should have I did regret spending the money.
