Hello mylotters. I know that it may be a little early to ask such a question, but with me moving all my stuff out of storage into the gargage where we moved it got me to thinking about Christmas stuff. I had the hubby to make sure that all my boxes and totes that was labled Christmas to put them where I could reach them. I always put up my tree the weekend after Thanksgiving. That will be around the end of this month. So mylotters when do you put up your tree?

We out on the christmas tree on the eve of my birthday--september 3rd. So it's on and lighted for almost four months. We really make it early according to my grannies... it brings in luck. They're right, we are receiving so much blessings!

We put ours up the weekend after Thanksgiving usually too. I am not sure if we will this year, we live with my husband's parents and well we're not sure if we can get everyone together / where we'll have Christmas. My FIL's side tends to not get together until after Christmas, and my MIL's side we usually rotate, but since we usually have thanksgiving with MIL's side we may have thanksgiving here and christmas at grandma's... we just don't know yet... so that all depends on whether we bother putting a tree up or not. Though I know when we get our own house I intend to even if I have to do it alone because there was too many christmases that my family didn't do Christmas, and I love the joy (and hassle) of decorating a tree!

I like to sit in the room with the tree, and just lay on the couch and smile, thinking of how beautiful it is, What Christmas means to me, and how beautiful of a season it is... I could spend hours just doing that...

I hope that everyone can get together and you are able to have a christmas tree at your inlaws. Thanks for sharing and you have a great week. Keep smiling.

Yes I love christmas too. It is my favorite time of the year. Im all about giving gifts then I am receiving them. Don't get me wrong I love to receive too but giving them is such a joy for me. No your not crazy, you do what you like and that is it. Have a great weekend and keep smiling.

hahaha, glad to know that you love Christmas too. I agree with you it is better to give than to receive. We must be thankful for the capacity to share, after all it's God's gift to us. Here, in the Philippines, vagrancy or giving alms to the poor is outlawed but it cannot be avoided especially when you see very young children on the streets. It's just so sad to see them, so what i usually do, i gave them food and it truly feels priceless to see them smile.

WOW...I would have never guess that it would be an outlaw to give gifts. I learn something new everyday. Thanks for sharing that information with me. Have a great day and keep smiling.

Hiya rosepedal. I usually get mine out ready a few days before if the family are coming then I let the children decorate it on Christmas Eve. If the family are not coming I usually do it half way through December. They are supposed to be coming this year but I've heard nothing. I just don't think I'm up to the effort and the expense this year.

Hi msTickle
Good to hear from you. I think that you should put up that tree even if you don't do anything else. It will make you feel much better. Want me to come and help you?...LOL..Thanks for sharing and you have a great day my friend. Keep smiling.

We wait until after Thanksgiving, actually somwhere around the 10th-15th of December. The reason we wait so long is for the Christmas tree because we get a real one every year. The tree is the only thing we wait on. The other decorations start going up around the end of November. My son and I do it every year, he is 18 now but says he still wants to help with the decorating.

That is great to hear that at the age of your son that he still wants to help. Usually when they get that age things start seem not important to family things. I always put up an artificial tree every year. I like the smell of the real ones but too much trouble to keep them alive. I guess that is a little laziness on my part..LOL..Thanks for sharing and have a nice day. Keep smiling.

We always put ours up the day after Christmas. It is a nice day to do it. My husband has the day off of work and the kids are home from school so everyone is home. Plus the fridge is full of already cooked food that just needs heated up so the day has a lot less stress in store for me because I don't have to worry about cooking dinner or anything. It is a nice day to do it and it a day that we earmark every year just for that purpose.

Hi ladym
I usually don't cook the big dinner. I do however do fix a small turkey and then when leaving the inlaws I try to get some leftovers to take home with us. Hubby usually has to work the next day so I serve him the leftovers as well. It makes it a easier day for starting the decorations. Have a great day my friend.
Can I ask a question..Did you mean to say Thanksgiving instead of christmas or do you really don't put up a tree till after Christmas...LOL

I wish we could put up our christmas tree two weeks earlier than December 1st, to experience a longer christmas. My grand daughter is very excited about christmas trees seen at the malls that when at home kept on nagging us of putting up our christmas tree. So by next week maybe our christmas tree will start the happy season at home.

Yeah our grandkids has a way to talk us into anything don't they...LOL..That is okay too I like the way that their faces look when they see the tree and all the decorations. Then when I start to put the presents under the tree lookout....Thanks for sharing bing and have a great weekend. Keep smiling.

We already have a Christmas tree in our house. We always put up Christmas decorations early. It feels nice because as early as November we could already feel Christmas approaching. I hope this year's Christmas would be a happy one for me and my loved ones.

If I have a fake tree I do it the day after thanksgiving. I usually start pulling out the boxes about this time and then slowly put some up each week. By the first week of December it should just about be done.
We love Christmas and decorate every part of our house. It is our tradition.

We usually put up our tree around December 1st. There isn't really a reason, that's just when we start to feel like it's Christmas season.

We usually don't put up a tree until after Thanksgiving. When I was a kid we'd spend the week of Thanksgiving giving the house a really good cleaning over and then on Friday, we'd start putting out decorations and putting them up around the house and in the front lawn. However, people are older, I'm not at home so that doesn't happen here much anymore. We tend to get them put up whenever we can. I hope that at my apartment I can start doing it how I want when I want.

Hi Rose. I love the atmosphere Christmas lights and decorations give to the house in our Michigan winters, so I put the tree up shortly after Thanksgiving and leave it until just after the New Year holiday.
Love to enjoy it as long as possible :)

Hi Peaceful
I know exactly what you are saying. I love to watch the lights and then I get to start wrapping those gifts too. I put them under the tree as I get them. When the grandkids come over it is funny to watch them try and figure out who has the most so far...LOL. Thanks for sharing and have a nice weekend. Keep smiling.

dear rose,
would you believe, i have my christmas tree up now? it lessens the stress from the office when i get home. just looking at it with the flickering lights gets me to feel very good. and when grandchild visits, i can see how it lifts her spirit. i start buying and wrapping the gifts and place then at the foot of the tree.

Hey that sounds like a plan. Put it up and just give a quick dusting every month. I don't think that would work in my house. But I like the thought of having christmas feelings all year long. I appreciate your sharing your thoughts. Have a nice evening and keep smiling.
