When going for a job or opening interview, do you prefer it to be a telephonic interview or do you prefer to have a in-person interview. Which of the two are you most comfortable with? For some tips on attending telephonic interviews check out: http://ramadvice.wordpress.com/2008/10/02/telephonic-interviews-play-it-by-the-ear/ Cheers! Ram

I prefer in person interview, because you can know more about the person in terms of his/her physical appearance, how he/she looks, they also say that through direct interview you will know if the interviewee is honest to his/her answers. The attitude could also be determined, so it's more ideal to do in-person interview. Happy mylotting!

Yes, the body language aspects are visible only through a in-person interview, though some aspects of attitude are also evident during a telephonic interview. Cheers! Ram

Correct. And sometimes some people actually cheat and get someone else to attend the telephonic interview and when finally the recruitment is over you find a completely different person out there!! Cheers! Ram

I also prefer face to face interviews as you can see the person whom your talking to. Talking on the phone to someone I don't know makes me uncomfortable. With telephone interviews you also don't get to see the persons facial expressions and body language and it is harder to connect or to judge how you are doing.

I have been in a lot of interviews as I am always looking for the next job that could improve my financial situation. I like telephone interviews because it doesn't take me away from my current job. I often just go out of the office, sit in my car, close the windows and proceed with the interview. Although face to face interviews have its advantages as you actually see the place of your potential work, I just don't like that I have to miss work, and sometimes a day's pay.

True. That's the advantage of technology. Also once you clear the interview there is usually one in-person round before the final offer. Cheers! Ram

I'll certainly go for a real live interview. I don't really know why there should be telephone interviews because you will never beable to grasp that persons quality if you dont' meet them in real life.

I think the trend of tele-interviews started to interview candidates who are far off, so the initial screening rounds could be done over phone and then later rounds could be done face to face. Cheers! Ram
