I'm just wondering... Howd you feel when one of your discussions got deleted just like that... while you are tryin to build your discussion which has became interested and has many responses?? Well, it just happened to my previous post/discussion about my "100th mylot posts" right before this post. Well, i'm bit sad about it... That just sucks! I'm wondering what's wrong about it?? And who has reported it... @least there is some explanation...Whatever...

If a discussion is a violation of the Guidelines it could be deleted even without being reported.
A discussion about 100th post is a violation of the last line of the Guidelines and should not have been posted in the first place
We must all be certain when we post that we are not causing others to lose their time (unless they choose to do so like I am doing right now).
One of my recent discussions was deleted too, presumably because it was too similar toanother one that I had posted. I am sorry for those who responded when this happens as they lose their post and their earnings.
Maybe it is time to have a look at the Guidelines so that it does not happene again?

It got deleted because it's a "milestone" topic. This is listed under the DON'Ts in the guidelines section of mylot: Don't "Start discussions promoting a milestone, such as birthdays, anniversaries, reaching a certain myLot rating, etc. This is best celebrated via private messaging with your myLot friends." allowed.
I made a similar topic in my excitement when I first reached 100 posts and it got deleted as well. There was this person who replied, he congratulated me and proceeded to tell me that he has reported my post for violating the rule against milestone posts. LOL! I am not sure as to how exactly they judge milestone posts though, like if they review it before deleting after someone reported it. I once made a post asking if you get any other "perk" after getting copy and paste when you reach 500 posts, like getting a star or getting to use emoticons. I was asking if, say, you reach 1000 if you get another perk. For some reason, it was judged as a violation.
I've had other posts deleted as well, and my reaction is to just accept it, and keep posting!

Possibly because it was of the many discussions started daily which are already answered inside the FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions).

I remember one of my discussions that disappeared was about the possible reasons why mylot exprerienced a glitch. That was about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I am not sure of the violation but I have complete confidence in mylot admin that they know what is the best for the site. It's only fair.

One time, my discussion was deleted because it was too similar to another discussion I'd already posted on music. It wasn't the same at all, but the title was not different enough, so I reworked the title to better distinguish from my other music post, and it was fine. Nobody had reported it, but it was picked up on by mylot admin.
It happens, and sometimes we can know the reason, and other times, it's a mystery to us. It is almost always because it has gone against a particular mylot policy, but do not let it deter you :))
But yes, for a bit, it makes us sad :(

Fortunately, I have not yet had any of my discussions deleted, but then again I have had good friends that have given me some really good advice that I listened to. Two of those friends have already made an appearance on this discussion, so I hope that you take what they have said into consideration the next time you start a discussion, and you should not have many problems in the future.
Congratulations on reaching your post count, and I hope you continue to have fun on here.

Thanks. I have not started all that many discussions, so I don't really think it is that much of an accomplishment, though. I have responded to some discussions that have been deleted, so I guess I made up for it there - lol. Some discussions I knew would be deleted, so I responded at my own risk. Others, however, I was rather disappointed about, because they caused me to lose some earnings. I guess we just live and learn.

It happened to me 3 in a row, then I post my sentiment "what will you do?" I know how you feel, it really sucks! And most of the resposnd you will read in this topic is about guidelines. But people who will encourage you to move on and telling you to be careful next time, these people/words will give you comfort and eases the sadness you feel. I know it cause they help me a lot.
Just be careful next time and accept the fact that when your discussion is deleted some thing is wrong with it and there's nothing you can do about it but to accept it. That's what I did but you can let your sentiment out through mylot and earn again!lol!
God Bless!

That's happened to me, but honestly, I really didn't care. It was a violation of the guidelines, so naturally it would get deleted. I just accepted it and went on posting, making sure not to make the same mistake again.

I don't start all that man discussions, so I haven't had that problem so far, howeer, I have tried to submit responses to discussions, and when I hit submit, I got the message that the discussion had been deleted because of violations.. I thought that was strange, but it does happen, and at least, I didn't lose any earnings on it, as I couldn't even submit it. I try not to post to discussions that might be deleted, but then when I do respond, to those, it is because I am trying to help someone who needs it. I do it knowing full well that I won't earn from it, but I like to help others. I will continue to do so, in spite of it. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Agoenx, whether or not someone reported it, the admin will eventually find out for themselves that you have discussions that break the mylot discussion guidelines. Which is why it is really important for each member to read the discussion guidelines carefully. As for me, I've had my own share of deleted discussions too, but it was something that I mistakenly looked over. Hence, reviewing the guidelines from time to time won't hurt, especially if you've been able to generate a lot of responses. That way, no time will be wasted (and earnings too )
