With funds limited for so many people, would it be wise to not travel this Thanksgiving and hold onto the money you have? I feel like this is the time where my family will comfort me in these tough times which will offset holding onto the extra funds I have.

As far as the portion of our family that we spend Thanksgiving with, we are all very close together, so it is not necessary for us to travel more than twenty miles to celebrate Thanksgiving with our family. However, if we did still celebrate with the extended family, there would be no hesitation in my mind to travel in order to spend Thanksgiving with them. They are a very important part of my life and even though we've grown apart in the past several years, if someone was to suggest having a big Thanksgiving together, I would definitely be there.

Luckily, in my case, my family and I all live in the same state (at least the ones that I celebrate the holidays with) so we don't have to worry about expensive traveling. We usually just do something low-budget and low-key anyway, so this year isn't any different.
