Actually, I think my cat is similar to yours. His name is Sunshine. Yes, we thought he was female when he was a kitten so that explains the name. I don't know if he's naturally big but we're going to have him tested for hormonal imbalance. He's actually bigger than my fully grown pomeranian dog so you can imagine.

that's a big cat there but good thing he wasn't upset when you called him sunshine as of now my cats are both kittens, i surely don't want them to grow like a dog, that's really huge to some one so cute

He has huge paws and a big head and body to go with. The vet fondly refers to him as the "metrosexual" kitty haha. He is big but we're sort of wondering whether it's normal. We don't know his breed because we picked him up on a curb when he was a kitten. Someone dumped him and we adopted him although we do suspect that he must be the spawn of the strays around the neighborhood. Those strays in our neighborhood are quite big, too. My boyfriend says maybe it's because they eat rats. I don't really get it.

Lightning - RIP, my son.
LOL Doormouse, that's not huge really. I've seen/known/held cats that weighed up to 30 lbs. Now THAT's BIG! The heaviest cat I've ever owned is my late bud Lightning. Still hurts that he's gone even though it's been a few years. At his heaviest, he weighed 16lbs. but was never fat. Just big-boned and heavily muscled and MEANNNNNN to everyone but mommy. He was mommy's lil' man through and through.

Thanks! He was a very beautiful cat but one where you only admired from a distance. His claws were lightning quick if ya got too close.

I used to have a big cat and he was called Bagpuss.He was a farm cat and we took him in as he was going to be put down as the owners were moving and could not take him with them.We took him to the vets as he was ill and we found out that he had diabetes,so i ended up having to put him on a diet as well as injecting him.He was that big he could not go in and out of the cat flap.

actually i have three big 15 pound cats that are solid muscle or used to be in the case of the oldest one. and two more well on thier way to being just as big. all five of them are boys ill list thier names by age oldest to youngest thier mopar, tigger two, spoof, potempkin, and ky kiske. the last two are brothers and spoof is thier dad which is why i suspect they will be as big as him. i also have had to hugely fat female cats in the past that got to 20 pounds each they were big girls :)

my cat is average. sometimes he looks big because his hair or fur is fluffy, but i think he is normal size. he is a domestic long hair.

Our recent addition, Eli, is 16 pounds. He is also polydactyl which makes his feet look huge; he has extra toes on all four paws. A wonderful cat, he is a bundle of cuddling purrs. Hugging him is wonderful and he doesn't mind. He is very laid back and calm, too.

Hugo doesn't seem to be over weight at all. I've known big boned cats to weigh 21 pounds. Our normal size tom cat weighs a few ounces over 11 pounds. The vet hasn't said anything about him being over weight. He's just a well nourished house cat.
@doormouse (4599)

he's very well nourished,but if he gets much bigger then he'll have to go on a diet

One of my cat is a bit large. But it is weight she put on because she can't except the fact that we will not allow her to mate. She is putting the weight on to do that whole "play" pregnancy thing. Hopefully she will lose more weight.

hello doormouse. well, am just glad they're not mad at you for having a mouse in your avatar or they would have choked it up, Is he a cat with breed, if that's the case then there's no doubt that the cat is big. that's good, i think the cat can be scarier than the usual. nope, mine are nothing more than kitties for now. but they won't grow as big as yours
