Do you always set a plan for the coming weeks or months, even year?

Do you plan for everything? Or you just simply go by whatever comes day by day? I am not much of a planner for everything. I might plan for small things, but not for the big project of future sort of stuff, unless I have something "big" in mind. Recently, I am engaging an online business with my friend, so I might have something on my mind, and I would very much like to plan ahead, or otherwise, everything falling apart. So, are you a planner type of person?

I am a planner and a goal setter.
I have a large whiteboard on which is set out my long-term goals and regulated steps towards achieving those goals. I chart my progress, re-setting my priorities as necessary, but keeping on track.
On my desk I keep my short-term goals (monthly, weekly, daily) all written down with steps towards achievement. Before commencing work each morning, I re-write my to-do list for the day, re-prioritising and assigning importance.
Goals are essential for success. Writing down those goals and keeping track of them is the key to success.

I don't usually plan my days weeks in advance, unless there are certain things which require me to plan ahead of time. If I'm planning a trip, then yes, I will do some planning for this try. For instance, I need to figure out how to get to my destination, where I'm going to stay and such. Otherwise, I usually just take it day by day, as there's often going to be unexpected events or things popping up at the last minute or when you least expected and then you need to chance your plans. This is pretty much why I try not to plan everything, just the things which really need to be planned ahead of time.
